The previews give me a headache. And people seem excited that it is by the Wachowski brothers, completely forgetting how DREADFUL the second and third Matrix films turned out.
I smell a flop, at least artistically.
The trailer was going so fast I couldn't tell WHAT was going on. If people were getting sick from 'Cloverfield', then 'Speed Racer' is gonna make you barf.
I'm saving it to watch it on DVD.
Emile Hirsch reminds me of a poor man's Leo.

the posters in the subway just look like a big MCDONALDS ad.

The trailer was awful.
I have no idea why, but I am SO excited about this movie.
It would be better had they cast the other "Speed".
I want to see it though.

I don't even want to begin describing how much I hate this film, and that's just from the previews.

I feel really old when I see the trailer, like I'm way past the target audience.
Just about every movie that is coming out this year looks like crap. Except of course for BABY MAMA. :)
I watched Speed Racer as a kid, but I have absolutely no desire to see this movie.
please. speed was a classic. i still know the damn theme song by heart. half the fun was shocked gasps that came from each character about every 15 seconds over everything from lunch being late to the realization that the mach v somehow had no brakes. i used to wake up early for this show. i still remember the shock of finding out the truth about racer x, the anxiety over the grx and my lust for trixie. i have no desire to see a modern live-action take on this.
here he comes, here comes speed racer, he's a demon on wheels...

"He's a demon and he's gonna be racing after someone."
Such deathless lyrics.
he's gainin' on you so you better look alive.
I never really cared for the show (it was my brother's favorite, however), but I have to admit, I really like the previews for the movie. Probably because it doesn't look so much like the show.
I never saw Matrix 2 or 3 simply because I didn't like the first one, but I loved V for Vendetta.
Count me in the "CAN'T WAIT" camp!
I loved the cartoon when I was a kid. I have one of the "best of" DVDs too. Great show.
And I can't wait to skip this movie entirely. It looks like the inner workings of a pinball machine. Horrendous art direction, IMO. Makes me nauseous.
If you haven't watched the original series in Japanese, you don't know nuffin'.
Ha, mateo. The reason dubs are so bad is that they'll hire almost anyone to do them. Heck, a friend of mine with no experience whatsoever in anything got to do one. But at least she has an imdb page now.
Well the dubbed voices aren't horrible. I take issue with the censorship, storyline cuts and alterations.
The dub did bring us the revamped 'Mahha GO GO GO' theme song, 'Go Speed Racer Go', which rivals the orginal Japanese theme. I like it better actually, and the english lyrics are fun.
"the posters in the subway just look like a big MCDONALDS ad.
yuk."
I just read that, Norn. LOL!
I hear there's a scene where Matthew Fox rescues one of Emile Hirsch's earrings from out of the sink. A tattoo-fondling, finger-banging love scene follows.
