STAR WARS III was amazing

Oh Lord, somebody pinch me please! Was I the only person in the galaxy to dislike this film??(my kids are cringing at the thought of me actually posting this!!) I was bored stiff during this special-effects marathon. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against all of the bells and whistles, I just expect to be kept awake by good writing and decent acting- no wonder I was falling asleep. this movie had neither! Now don't throw things, it's just my opinion- but with the exception of Samuel L. Jackson, there wasn't an actor who could read a line and not make it sound like a grade school play(they didn't have a good script to workd with either!).I'm sure that the rest of the family will see the movie a few more times. but as for me, I went, I saw and I'm glad it's over!

I saw it Saturday.. I LOVED it.. Lucas did a wonderful job during the end with the comparision with Padmé and Anakin. Wow, that's using your talents.. I would love to see it again, and I will.. Next time, I am going to go to see the digital version at our IMAX theatre!!

STAR WARS III was amazing

Yeah, I know why 'Empire' is what 'Empire' is but, to me, it wreaked of something that was big and bright and wildly adventurous being made more 'adult' by being somber and dark and serious. It didn't have the sense of wonder the others have, not just because it was the middle and the bad guys had to take the lead, it was just more violent and cynical and small-minded. The first 'Star Wars' saved the universe, in 'Empire' they couldn't even take care of themselves and that sort of spoiled the fairy tale for me -- it was like it was afraid to be silly and childlike because so many people were looking and thinking it was suddenly very important.

I agree that STAR WARS (none of that 'A New Hope' nonsense for me STAR WARS III was amazing ) will always be the big one. I hope Lucas puts it back in the theaters again soon.

Oh... the original will be back in theatres soon enough. Lucas plans on re-releasing all six films (one per year) in 3-D beginning in 2006, using a new state of the art 3-D process which is suppsoed to knock one's socks off. Of course it will be the Special Digitally Enhanced versions of the original films

STAR WARS III was amazing

Sorry I haven't been on the internet for a while! After I saw the midnight showing I HAD to get the game, the soundtrack, and the book. Then I had to try to remember where I put the comic adaptation of the movie... I hid it from myself so I would not be tempted by the power of the dark side. Ever since, I have been a happy little fangirl :).
Gosh, it took me a while to find this thread again!

STAR WARS III was amazing

I went today! (I've seen all of them, going back to the original releases of the first trilogy, but I'm not enough of a hard-core fan to fight the crowds the first weekend. STAR WARS III was amazing) I can agree with some of the criticisms, but I enjoyed it a lot. I CRIED at the very last scene, with Baby You-Know-Who and the suns and the MUSIC coming up and, waaaaahhhh! Thought Ewan did a great job, and Yoda rocks. The Wookiees should have been in more. When Anakin complains about not being made a Jedi Master, I was waiting for Samuel Jackson to say, "Don't *#$% with me, you *$(#&@%*% little $#&#@*%!" Overall, I give it a thumbs up. My 2 cents...

Just saw it tonight. I didn't like I, and HATED II. I was SO glad with this one. Wow. It's not perfect, not going to win an Academy Award for best picture, but in the grand scheme of things that is Star Wars, it lived up to my expectations of the film, and then some. Very impressed, and very glad that we end the saga on such a high note.

>>It's kind of funny that according to the films, technology takes a giant leap backwards from Episode III to Episode IV.

That one is easily explained, theyre in decline-- all the money was going to fighting the war so the money wasnt being spent on the cities.

Also, some have felt that the "architectural asthete" of the prequels being so much prettier and fancier works against the original trilogy. In actuality, the thought when they designed these new films was comparable to our nation going from the Art Deco of the 30s to the boring, function stressed blandness of the 70s and 80s.

We're only just now in that last few years remembering that function and fun can go together---architecture, phones, computers, etc.

And, I agree with Mistress that the rich got richer while the rest of the galaxy crumbled. (I would hate to see that happen in our country...) And, the galaxy was a war zone, leaving much in ruin on top of decay.

It's really fascinating from an interdisciplinary pov.

Hayden and Natalie are very capable of doing a love scene...Hayden Life as a House....Natalie in many of her roles...

STAR WARS III was amazing

I saw it for the second time today, and enjoyed it. Well, most of it. As many, including myself, have said before: George Lucas's talent for writing has gone straight to hell. He does his actors no favors, and leaves them all to make the best of it.

Performances are okay, though Christensen and Portman are as stilted as ever. It hurts me to watch them in this, because I know that they are both extremely talented. Hopefully, their careers will never cross paths with the "Star Wars" franchise. Ever again.

Aside from that, the art direction, score, and sound were quality, and Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor were solid.

Kangaroo, you should definitely get the soundtrack for Episode III, it's a great listen. And if that wasn't good enough there's a great bonus DVD that comes with it.

It's Ian McDiarmid presenting 'A Musical Journey', so basically a look at all six soundtracks with some great Star Wars footage.
Depends on how big of a Star Wars fans you are, I guess but I really enjoyed the DVD.

Has anyone seen this video of Triump the Insult Comic Dog making fun of people waiting in line for Star Wars. It's absolutely hilarious.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
