re: Star Wars: Episode III

Was it? I was unable to see it...

re: Star Wars: Episode III

Yeah, the only part that I saw was when those 2 ppl (whose names escape me...) met George Lucas and he gave them a tour of the original props and such

re: Star Wars: Episode III

ok this is random but I was just watching Return of the Jedi on DVD and at the end when the ghosts of Anakin, Yoda and Obi Wan appear, instead of seeing the guy who played Anakin in that movie I saw Hayden Christensen. Has anyone ever noticed that? I thought my eyes were decieving me
hmm...

re: Star Wars: Episode III

Yes it is one of the "changes" lucas made for the DVDs and I HATE it. I don't mind changing some of the special effects to make them better, but I consider that to be akin to taking out Alec Guiness and putting in Ewan McGreggor.
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

re: Star Wars: Episode III

The reason is because the last time Anakin was a Jedi was when he looked like Hayden.

I think this next film is going to clear up quite a bit of stuff.

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I'm with jrb on that one, Penguin. At the end of the day, we only know Anakin looking like Hayden, so it wouldn't have been very logical to keep Shaw as Anakin.

Also, I really liked Eddie's idea about the Jedi 'freezing' the minute his spirit turns to the Dark Side. re: Star Wars: Episode III

We will just have to wait and see... I hope all our questions will be answered on Thursday!

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I really think the "reason" is Lucas wanted an excuse to put Christensen in the movie, since he wants that to be the way the character looks.
Anakin is supposed to be redeemed before he dies, it would seem like that would be enough to have him look the way he alsways did.
I think it makes sense thematically to do make that change, based on the whole "freezing spirit" idea, but I still have big issues with changing the actual content of the movie. Again maybe if they had made the original version available as well I wouldn't feel that way but when I get to the end and see Hayden smiling down on me I kindof feel cheated.
I hope all the questions are answered on Thursday as well! Sorry to be a downer for a minute there. re: Star Wars: Episode III

re: Star Wars: Episode III

STAR WARS=The most overrated franchise in history!

Thank God for ANNIE HALL. I don't think I could live in a world where STAR WARS was named Best Picture.

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I probably "just don't get it", which is what people have been telling me my whole life. I'm fine with that.

So, no, I will not be seeing it.

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I don't really see your point in trying to crash this party, MEF but whatever...

ANYWAY, has anyone seen the two new TV trailers called Brothers and Celebration? They are now available on starwars.com and they look fantastic. And I thought I couldn't possibly get more excited about this movie!

re: Star Wars: Episode III

When you walk in on a group that obviously loves something, it's considered polite to say something nice or nothing at all. I mean, most arguments are made because two opposing groups are trying to change each others' opinions, and I can tell you right now MEF, that's not going to happen. So why don't we just agree to disagree, and not go off denouncing each other's passions and hobbies. :)

re: Star Wars: Episode III

*sidles in* I hope I'm not crashing the party? I'm sorta out of the loop on this anyway because I've made a conscious effort to avoid the hype. I just want to go and watch without worrying about whether or not something I read about will happen or if it's as bad as so-and-so says. *taps foot in anxious anticipation of Thursday*

I have not even seen the DVDs because I'm afraid. I don't think they should have messed with the originals, so it's tapes for me. Unless they don't have them in at blockbuster.

You must count me amoung those who love BOTH Annie Hall and Star Wars.

I am sooo excited now, watching these clips is making me shiver with anticip...ation.

*clings to Penguin* That sounds good... it'll be ok... *breathes deeply*

Penguin, maybe the rain is really to blame.

re: Star Wars: Episode III

All of the TV trailers on the Star Wars site are fantastic, I have been watching them over and over again. Favorite one has to be End Of War.

Isn't it funny that someone thought it was necessary to start an anti thread after not finding any approval on here???

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I have no idea why he'd 'walk' into a thread specifically for Star Wars fans and ask if anyone hated the movie. Sounds like someone's looking for a fight.

QM's approval reassures me. *takes deeper breath* I can do this, I can do it... *clicks onto Star Wars site*

Well I must remove the cause but not the symptom, Nia. Never the symptom.

hey this is fun.

yep, QM that was an odd move.
It's getting close now though, so close. No one can dampen the enthusiasm.

Nia, you are not alone, I'm with you re: Star Wars: Episode III

And now if you excuse me, I'm off to post on the Adam Pascal Love Thread to tell the posters there how crap he is. And if they dare not agree with me I will start an anti-Adam thread!

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I see that my statements has caused some people to get up in arms. For that, I apologize. When I posted those comments, I did not realize that this was a "Fans Only" thread. Given that I am not a fan, I will not post on this thread again.

In the same token, don't take my comments too seriously. Just one man's opinion. I'm not saying that STAR WARS fans can't enjoy ANNIE HALL, or vice versa.
