If this was real (there are conspiracy rumors going around), Miss Colombia should sue Fox 5 tv for the embarrassment she suffered on national tv when they snatched her tiara and sash from her on the air.

I can't imagine it was a conspiracy for goodness sake.
Who would benefit? The broadcast was almost over so it's not like the ratings would increase.
I feel bad for Ms. Colombia. Both her and Harvey maintained an admirable amount of poise.
Mistakes happen; the card was a little confusing, but I'm sure someone will sue someone because that's what people do.
I just saw that Colombia is already looking for someone to blame.

What I read was that the Miss Universe Pageant needed publicity but I don't go with that theory either.
I'm on Miss Colombia's side. There are other ways it could have been handled other than mortifying her in front of the world.

Some media outlets reported that Steve Harvey via his Snapchat account stated that he read the results not from the card in his hand, but from the TelePrompter. It seems that whoever entered the information to the TelePrompter entered the wrong winner.
Highly awkward and embarrassing scenario no matter how you slice it.
I feel bad for Miss Colombia, who I might add could pass for Sofia Vergara's doppleganger!

I feel bad for Miss Colombia's embarrassment but I also feel bad for Miss Philippines being denied her winning moment and all the taunting she has to endure because of the mistake. Based on her Q&A answers alone, she was the clear winner.

If it was on the TelePrompter they would have been able to read it as well. Harvey just didnt read the card correctly

Poor Miss Columbia. She will probably be the best thing for her career though. She has the worlds sympathy.

I just heard on radio - It was not the teleprompter (if it were, everyone could see it on the monitors). Harvey skipped the final rehearsal, didn't know how to read the card. Colombia drug lords weighing in on it. What???

Oh okay. I thought it was weird that he blamed the TelePrompter bu there's a "Today" show segment discussing a possible TelePrompter gaffe.

I watched the entire pageant and turned the channel when they announced Miss Colombia won! LOL. Hubby went to bed. We didn't find out until the morning.
Miss Philippines was the clear winner, so we were surprised. It was hilarious how she mugged for the camera the entire time. She'd look all sweet and innocent and when she realized the camera was on her she give this funny "come f**k me" stare.
I was surprised that Miss USA was in the final three.
And, I loathe him, but Trump was also brought into it when judge Perez Hilton invoked his name in the middle of the pageant. Disparagingly.
It has happened before...Miss Georgia, US, 1974 when Donna Jo Carnes wasn't crowned. It took years for Audrey Dickers to find the error!

Look how much publicity Idena Menzel got from the Travolta stuff up-perhaps the same for this blooper.
Do these relics of a show still exist and find an audience ? Obviously---let's hope some charity benefits as this sort of show belongs back in the 80s or on a continuous loop in the mens' loo at sporting events.
