Stupidest Labels

Posted: 11/21/07 at 1:30pmI did a search, I swear. So anyway. I was at the gas station today, and there was a label on the pump that said, "Caution: Do not attempt to siphon gas by mouth." I know there are people who are none too bright, but, come on. What are some really dumb ones you've seen?

That's not that dumb actually. A lot of people used to steal gas that way, and died.
I think the stupidest sign I've seen ever is the one that papa puts up when he swears that he's straight.
I mean, some people are dumb, but come on!

I love stupid warning labels. Some of my favorites:
"May contain nuts" (found on a package of peanuts)
"Warning: Knives are sharp!" (on a box for a sharpening stone)
"May be harmful if swallowed" (found on a hammer)
And what may be the best of all time:
"Fragile. Do not drop" (found on a Boeing 757)

Rose, is that Boeing one for real?
Found on a road sign in VERY BIG LETTERS.
"Caution! Do not touch edges of the sign. Edges of the sign are very sharp. When you touch the edges of the sign, they will hurt and bleed etc."
and right below that in very small letters: "Oh yeah, the bridge is out ahead, by the way."

and many people siphon gas from a plastic bottle to their car using a hose, and while very very stupid to suck on it to get it going, I can see a need for the warning.
as to the 747, many items onboard are fragile.......it's simply a reminder to be careful

Another favorite of mine:
"Do not use while sleeping," found on a blowdryer.

You should check out the rest of the Rink Works site. It has some pretty awesome stuff on there.
Edit: Check out their "Bad, Bad, Bad Movies" section. It's full of win.

Um, not all assistance animals are seeing-eye dogs. You can get hearing dogs as well, and signs like that are just as much for the people who don't need assistance but may go "oh no, there's a dog in the shop!" as they are for the people who want to know if their assistance animal is allowed in a building.

OMG the movie-a-minute section on that site has got some funny stuff

Some Woman
I do enjoy my nice, idyllic lifestyle, but I hope that underneath my seemingly perfect suburban world there is corruption and evil.
(SOME WOMAN discovers her OWN CORPSE and is ARRESTED.)
Midget
Someday that gum you like is going to come back in style.
Hit Man

(An EYE is slit open with a RAZOR BLADE. We learn that SOMEBODY was really SOME WOMAN all along, and they were on the MOON.)
