Summer school=Bummer school.

Anyone else here taking summer school? Anyone else taking it to make up a credit? I'm re-taking English I and I have 1 more day. (Thank God?) I have so much work to do tonight...and I'm not going to do it. I was supposed to watch a 4 hour version of Hamlet tonight...God knows I'm NOT watching an effing 4 hour movie for school. Hm, I suppose this is kind of similar to venting...Oh, this is an invitation to vent for those of you taking it too. haha

I have to take Precal over again, It friggin sucks cause I dont have a teacher (im doing it online) but i have like two or three weeks left.

well, in MY DAY we would have never had such a lame assignment as "watch a movie." we would have been told to read the play and have a synopsis read for the next day.

*raises hand* I have summer school. I'm taking Health because I have no time in my regular school schedule. Tomorrow, we're watching the Miracle of Life video...im scared HAHA.

Want to complain, take my classes! Physics, math and a grad level parenting course for teachers on how to handle the parents of your students. Plus I am teaching French to middle schoolers. I have another 6 weeks of this stuff!

Priest, I don't know whether to laugh at your comment or to hate you for it.

The thing about the place that I'm taking summer school at is...it's a really small school. I'm the ONLY English 1 student in the class-so we don't have class discussions or anything. 4 hours of non-stop work. (Well, there's a 15 minute break, but that's beside the point ) A 4 hour movie is kind of a big demand, wouldn't you say?

It's Hamlet by Kenneth...something. It's supposedly good. What's funny is that the school that I'm taking summer school at is a "learning different" school, so a 4 hour movie seems a bit lengthy for a bunch of ADD students...(I am not ADD)

Oh jesus! 4 hours of Shakespeare! I love the guy, but, I would seriously break out my ipod and nearly invisible headphones and listen to some piazza. you can always get cliff notes at PinkMonkey.com, I go there all the time. Read? pfhh no thank you. and I am extremely ADD. I almost died during Batman Begins. I just started singing Les Miz in my head.

yes, yes we are. my brother always takes me to stupid action movies, and he has to hit me because i sometimes start singing out loud. Last time he hit me during a beautiful, but quiet version of the confrontation from les miz. Where i played both tht role of valjean and javert.

the movie is really good and fairly faithful to the book. just read the book and some sparknotes...honestly though, why do they think you can just teach yourself Hamlet over night? did you do it this year in school or something?

No i did it in 9th grade two years ago. and romeo and juliet and lord of the flies and things fall apart last year, and cry the beloved country. seriously sparknotes and pinkmonkey.com are my lifelines.

No, we didn't do it this year. I'm not taking summer school at my school. We did Romeo and Juliet this year. I just have to give summaries of each of the acts. I offered to do Romeo and Juliet and Midsummer, and he was like, "No, Hamlet is the best." ...that bastard. Oh, I still have not started my work. I have a research to write on obesity. Anyone wanna help (aka: write it for me) I've got a PayPal account...haha (No, seriously. I do.)

parks, calm down, boy, calm down. anyone who refers to KB as "kenneth...something" on a theatre board needs to learn a thing or two. watch the movie. and instead of letting showtunes run through your head, why not keep it interesting by looking for the goofs?
