Who do y'all think will be the returning survivors for the new season? I bet James will be the one from this season. Do you think they will have someone from every season, or just the more recent ones?

I agree with Phyllis; after Courtney's opening statement I thought, "Oh my God. The least deserving finalist in Survivor history is going to win a million dollars." She even had me convinced she that the jury should vote for her!

I think Todd deserved to win out of the three finalists, having manipulated the game from beginning to end, though I thought Amanda would win. I was surprised that she finished third out of those three, but, after twice not taking a chance to boot Todd, it's her own d*mn fault.

I did think the time between the final challenge and Denise being voted out was incredibly tense, or at least well edited! Despite not liking any of them, I was on the edge of my seat. However, with the "three tribal councils" announcement in my head, I kept expecting a twist, like one of the three finalists being booted in a surprise elimination. I also think they should go back to two finalists. Having three almost entirely eliminates the "do I pick someone deserving or someone I can beat" element that poor Colby fell victim to so long ago.

I also thought it was weird that they gave Denise an extra $50,000. It's not like she is now out of work because of the show. She has a different job, yes, but she is still working. She also received some compensation for finishing fourth. If I was one of the other contestants, I might be a little peeved.

The biggest disappointment for me in the reunion show is that Probst didn't ask Todd about his sister's miscarriage. He asked Courtney if she is anorexic and Eric if he is still a virgin but didn't ask Todd if the miscarriage was a ploy?!?

My money is on P.G. as the one to be in the next edition. She is in the Rupert, Bobby Jon, Stephenie mold of deserving, but put upon, contestants. James may be popular, but, after not playing one of two immunity idols, I am not so sure he deserves another chance!

So, why was there no car challenge this year?

Finally, what was up with Todd's hair in the reunion show?!? Was it an homage to Denise?!?

I agree that Courtney's performance at tribal was good but there was nothing that she did during the season that would have justified her winning anything. Just coming to tribal and sounding good is not enough. The vote from Denise was an angry vote against Todd and Amanda and not because Denise thought she was necessarily deserving. And as we all know, Frosti and Courtney were very good friends.

Phyllis Rogers Stone, I don't know what James did to you but based on your posts you obviously have a major hard on for him.

I'm sure it'll be PG in the next installment...though the premise sounds stupid. I thought she was funny, picking her nails disinterestedly while Todd talked, and telling Amanda to stop it with the doe eyes...I was thinking the same thing!

I felt Todd deserved the win before tribal council, and didnt change my mind after, though Courtney did a great job. (I also loved that she admitted she didnt like kids!) I'm so glad that Amanda came in third.

Denise proved by her actions and words that she was too stupid to play this game...it's a freakin' game and after a month at home, you'd think she'd get over being voted out! Sheesh!

Her getting a check for being a whiner ruined the finale...luckily I was actually doing dishes and just heard that it happened.

I forgot about P.G. and her nails! That was hysterical!

It really was, but it seemed like an edit, but I wondered if they just edited it in, for humor.

Pab, I thought he was a douchebag, of the unpleasant (and unfounded) "no one could survive without me" variety. No major hard-on here. If my dick got hard for someone who had two immunity idols and placed seventh I'd need to rethink my penis. What about him makes you so defensive? Was it the endless promotion by CBS and Jeff Probst?

It's totally James for the next season. Yau Man from last season is in it, too.

Some of the "All-Stars" were leaked on the web well before this season ended. I had read that TWO members of this past last season would be involved, James and Courtney but I believe that Jeff mentioned only one during last night's finale. Others players mentioned were Yau-Man (Fiji), Ozzy (Cook Islands), Terry (Panama) and Garry Hogeboom (Guatemala).

The above of course is all speculation but, as I said, it's been out there from around the end of October.

By the way, the use of the term "having a major hard on for someone" does not necessarily indicate a sexual connotation. The context of how I was using the term was that you had major issues with him. I personally hold no brief for James, I just was curious as to why you had such a negative reaction to him.

Because he was a pretty bad player - evidenced by him finishing 7th with two immunity idols in his pocket - but all season long CBS was pumping him as a super-player. The did the same with Rupert, who had a similar "this game can't survive without me" air to him. Note to both of them - the game survived without you. With the exception of being strong and doing okay in challenges for a while, what was so great about James? I just never got the allure.

So "having a major hard on" means you don't like someone? You kids and your slang!

Ugh! So, Denise was not fired...she wasnt even a lunch lady! She was always a janitor and, in fact, got a promotion upon returning?!

I am SO not surprised...did she think she'd get away with lying?

Ooooh, I wonder if she'll get her 50 grand still. See, something was weird about her. Her life was so great and wonderful until she got to the final four or five. Then it was awful and terrible and what was she going to do?

PRS, I am totally with you on the James and Rupert fronts. Do you read the recaps of Survivor on Television Without Pity? The recapper completely agrees with our take as well - you should check them out if you haven't already!

Perhaps they'll arrest her for Fraud. She could share a jail cell with Richard Hatch.

Miss Alli is great on twop...as is Potes who recaps America's Next Top Model. Both are hilarious and accurate.

I find most of the other recaps on that site to be hit or miss. I like the ones (a la Miss Alli) that actually analyze and critqiue as opposed to those that just say, "So and so does this. So and so did that. The she said this, etc."

exactly...I was surprised how dull most of the recaps are. Miss Alli and Potes are the only ones who inform AND are funny.
There was a great recapper who did American Idol (which got me started on twop years ago) who made me laugh out loud at work...now the recapper just lists what happens...what's the point?

Miss Alli is great, and happens to recap my two favorite reality shows, Survivor and The Amazing Race. Phyllis, I agree that Jamie is stupid, but my impression of Miss Alli's take was that she was annoyed by the double standard (re: the portrayal of James), as opposed to being a fan of Jamie.

I hope Mark doesn't give Denise the money. She really is ignorant to think she would get away with that lie. She is as bad as Johny rotten or whatever his name was that lied about his grandma. He did it to get ahead in the game, she did it to get sympathy from the entire survivor audience and the producers of the show. She doesn't deserve the money and I hope he doesn't give it to her or if he already did, she has to pay it back. What a liar!
