Susan Who?

I don't think her goal in dedicating herself to her craft was to insure that she gets recognized when she leaves the house.

*Sigh* Oh Goth!

She's not there to be recognized.Goth once again is targeting a liberal because he does not agree with her politics.

"I'm just here to be educated," she said.

It's a shame more people don't feel that way.

^^^She's not there to be educated. It was a stop off on her way to Italy. Total publicity stunt.

No I'm targeting her because she's a hypocrite. Someone as rich as her attending a protest against Wall Street? That hilarious. Who do you think does the financing for her films?

Totally! Who ever heard of Susan Sarandon being politically active before?

*Sigh* Oh Goth!

^^^ Wall Street is heavily invested in Hollywood. Every film has investors and the big studio pictures use Wall Street to find the investors and handle the money.

I Had to Read Goth's Post Twice. Goth is Getting Crazier & Crazier!

Publicity stunt? No one recognized her. How is it a publicity stunt? What was she suppose to gain Goth? Once again, you are speculating.

How is she a hypocrite? ANYONE who is rich according to Goth is a hypocrite if they do not support Wall street. LOL! Maybe the dumbest thing you've ever posted Goth. So, I guess Michael Moore and Sean Penn and Tim Robbins and Martin Sheen and Barbra Streisand and Ben Stiller and everyone in Hollywood are hypocrites because they are against Wall Street. Talk about lumping everyone in to one group. Rich='s Pro Wall Street attitude? You really see the world as black or white.Good guys vs.the bad guys.

Goth, I think you are confusing Hollywood Producers and the businessmen and women in Hollywood. Studio heads and those who own and operate the studios and finance films may do day to day business with Wall Street. They deal with Wall Street more than the stars do.How many Independent films has Susan Sarandon done? How many films has she done where the film has been financed by foreign investors?

Goth,as usual, you are talking about something you know NOTHING about. To accuse Susan Sarandon and Hollywood stars as being hypocrites because they are rich is just ignorant. You believe ANYONE who is rich MUST SUPPORT Wall Street? No questions asked. Support them no matter what. Really? Is that what you are saying? How do you expect to be taken seriously when you say stuff like this?

I'm surprised you did not accuse Susan Sarandon of being a hypocrite because she was in WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS and here she is protesting on Wall Street,so that makes her a hypocrite.Sounds dumb, but I can clearly hear you making that weak argument. Try posting about things you actually know about.

Odd that the News would focus the story on the premise that the protesters had no idea who she was but then spend the bulk of the story relating incidents when the protesters "peppered her with questions" about her career and activism, obviously demonstrating that at least some of them clearly knew exactly who she was. And of course, if she was a "nobody" as Goth and the paper seem to want to believe then why report it at all?

But why am I expecting a conservative paper to demonstrate any intelligence?

I will say something about the whole 'publicity stunt' aspect - at least some in the mainstream media used it to give it some press. The overt media blackout on this has been stunning, if not a little frightening.

Yes, it says a lot about the "Liberal media" that the appearance of a handful of "Tea Party" counter protesters received more coverage than the actual protests (which have numbered as many as a couple hundred).

I work directly across the street from the park where the protesters are camping out. The police presence and security issues taken in my building are absolutely asinine and out of all proportion to what is taking place.

I'm saying this as someone who is still completely unclear as to exactly what people are protesting? Wall Street is going nowhere. It is foundational to the American economy. The people who need to be protested are our hired help (read: representatives in Congress) to actually enforce regulation and accountability.

But...of course...that probably won't happen. Thanks, Supreme Court, for Citizens United! So, I imagine these people are simply trying to call attention to this kind of financial malfeasance in some way. It's one of many ways to try to regain some sense of power when you feel powerless.

And good on Ms. Sarandon for taking her role as a citizen seriously in this country. As Meryl Streep once said (and I'm paraphrasing), 'Just because we're artists doesn't mean we've given up our citizenship.'

"The overt media blackout on this has been stunning, if not a little frightening."

Because it's been poorly thought out and poorly planned. The media's not going to cover something so slipshod as this.

I don't care for Susan Sarandon. Nothing to do with her politics, but her performance in EXIT THE KING solidified what I'd always thought: she's a mediocre actress at best.

Regardless, this is far from a publicity stunt. It's very in her nature. It's practically idiotic to suggest she would do this for attention.

Well, I know it's not nearly as important as Tom Brady's new haircut or the color of Snooki's recent bowel movement, but at the very least it deserves mention as a traffic story.

^ This.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Oh, by the way. Over a thousand media outlets covered the Berkeley "Racist Bake Sale" which by all accounts involved about a hundred students and lasted for an hour. "The media's not going to cover something so slipshod as this."

I don't want to threadjack, but off. That final monologue she had in EXIT THE KING was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced. I was considering pulling off my fingernails.
