I wish TCM would get around to Gigi down here. They've been on a Western kick instead.
Ah, you need Paris and some champagne, GH!
Oui! Tres bien.
I have had, 'fly to the sky on Champagne...' going through my mind.
And shout to everyone in sight
That since the world began
no woman or a man
has ever been as happy as we are tonight!
(edited to find a picture that isn't too large...)
Don't forget the Hermione Gingold 'pop.'

Or upload it to photobucket and resize it.
Champagne!
(nitsua, that's an option, too!
'Dipped. Poor thing doesn't know it, yet.'
WHo did I just read is returning in GIGI in the Maurice Chevalier role?
"Gigi, you're from another planet."
oooh, Who?! And, returning to Gigi where? when? Do tell!
(Maurice Chevalier is the perfect Honore'...)
Addy, I would be happy to tell you if I actually had a memory.
Ah, yes. I remember it well.
Ah, yes...
it's Topol! And Millicent Martin will be Inez!
(In London.)
Great. Only 22 and half hours by plane.
On stage?!?
Fun fact:
The day after the movie won its nine Oscars, M-G-M telephone operators were instructed to answer all phone calls with, "Hello, M-Gigi-M."
Another fun fact:
With only four letters, "Gigi" has the shortest title of any film to win the Oscar for Best Picture.
(GH, shorten the flight with a stop in New York! )
Oh, the joys of the Freed unit.
My oh my what a wonderful day!
Thank Goddess!
Gigi and Funny Face have always been too gay for me. Perhaps it's the Gay Paree influence on both?
While I do love TCM, their oscar month lineup is not as strong as in recent years.
Their 31 Days of Oscar is always my least favorite time of year on TCM. However, since they've gotten hold of Warner Bros. and Columbia titles, I find myself watching more of TCM than ever before.
Fred and Rita
I especially love the set dressing on this film.
It's good to see you back, Glebby. I love this film too. Particularly my favorite - Virginia O'Brien. She was a beautiful master of the dead-pan!
Thanks Mamie!
I was in Seattle seeing wonderful Pacific Northwest Ballet's production of John-Christoff Maillot's ROMEO ET JULIETTE.
