Make sure you've got your PUFF PLUS because up next:
GOODBYE MR. CHIPS
This is definitely a major Kleenex film. Isn't Greer Garson lovely? She stayed that way all her life.
Such an inspiring film.
Greer is beautiful - like my Tanny.
Who knew Lee Remick could twirl the sh*t out of a baton!
Watched THE WORLD, THE FLESH And THE DEVIL (1959) Harry Belafonte, Inger Stevens, Mel Ferrer - this morning. Really cool and Harry was quite a hottie.
Today at 3:30 P.M. Eastern time:
Stardust Memories on now.
Penny-you have ESP! I was just about to post that. A friend of mine has a line in it. Coming up right now!
Which one, Jane?
One of the reporters and then later, one of the people who ask Woody a question from the audience.
Suicide was not a middle class option. My mother was too busy putting the boiled chicken through the deflavorizing machine.
What are you saying? That I'm flirting with your 14-year-old cousin? That's absurd!
Creepy.
Penny, c'mere. Let me feel your forehead.
How much do we love Louise Lasser???
Oh I get it! I'm not in the same room with the tv!
Let me feel your forehead anyway.
Can you just write "To Phyllis Weinstein, you unfaithful, lying bitch"?
Too much reality is not what the people want.
"How much do we love Louise Lasser?"
A lot. In the late 70s, I could not get enough of Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.
I just looked her up on IMDB and had no idea she was still working.
Here's Liza!
I went through the TCM listing today and found about 30 great movies airing in February, and I'm not just talking about the Oscar ones.
I can't wait to see MILDRED PIERCE again. And I've never seen GAS LIGHT. They are on the 8th and 10th, respectively.
I wish I could've seen THE PAJAMA GAME, but I missed it.
Okay, I just saw an ad for TCM on TNT during the SAG awards... and I'm DYING!!!!
When will TCM go hi-def!?!? When, oh when?
It looked SO fantastic.
I want my TCM in hi-def.
Now!!!!
I don't know if anyone else is watching "Young at Heart" but this is one I never miss when it's on and I just realized why. Frank Sinatra's voice. I truly believe he was the finest singer of his generation and his voice was never better than in this film. It gives me chills while melting my bones! Maybe it was 'Witchcraft'!
I'm definitely in need of another MIldred Pierce viewing.
"Veda, give me that check!"
"Milred, it's Kay, I think it's pneumonia." "Hawno."
Mamie, I love that movie. There's something about that family that touches me deeply.
I love Doris, and Deborah and (I think most of all) Ethel Barrymore.
It feels like coming home, problems and all.
I know EXACTLY what you mean! After seeing this for the first time MANY years ago, I started adding gingerbread cookies to the list of Christmas cookies I'd bake. I've been doing them every year since then. There's one for each one in the family - each personalized with their names. This year I got to watch the new babies 'teething' on theirs!
(God - listen to that voice!)
