I didn't like it that much. I thought they tried too hard with the 80s stuff and I'm not a fan of so much voiceover.
Did you watch Trophy Wife too? That show was flawed, but it had a few laugh out loud moments; Marcia Gay Harden had the funniest line of the season so far with her crack about, "I've FORGOTTEN more about erections than you will ever know about them your entire life!"
Brooklyn Nine Nine is my surprise funniest new show of the season.

I really enjoyed it and even more after seeing the videos of the actual family at the end. It's a little Wonder Years-y. Does Patton Oswalt narrate the show?
Trophy Mom is on the list to watch. Brooklyn 99 was pretty great. Mom was the typically CBS trash. I'm sorry they made something so bad that I refuse to watch Anna Faris and Allison Janney.

Goldbergs was a VERY solid pilot- set up some great characters. I'm looking forward to seeing that unfold. AND what a cast!

I didn't think Goldbergs was good. The 80s stuff was forced. Trophy Wife was a little better.
Anyone see Lucky 7? I thought the characters were pulled from the cast of Hands on a Hardbody. We all know how lottery shows end. I'm sure their lives will be hell. I just liked seeing all the scenes in Queens (my hood).

Posted: 9/25/13 at 6:47pmIs Lucky 7 the same as Windfall? I haven't watched it yet but I'm sure it will get canceled.

Posted: 9/25/13 at 6:49pmLucky Seven got very low numbers. I recorded it but haven't watched yet--I understand it's a remake of a popular UK show (The Syndicate) but I'm sorta surprised the show was picked up--it just seems so similar to the flop Summer series from a few years back with Luke Perry, Windfall.

Posted: 9/25/13 at 6:57pmI'm not even going to start LUCKY 7. That show might as well have been titled "CANCELED".

Posted: 9/25/13 at 6:59pmI liked the pilot a lot. And I liked TROPHY WIFE too, even if it was hit or miss. And as much as I like Malin, she's just...kinda boring. I'm not sure she's strong enough to carry the show, especially with pros like Marcia and Bradley stealing scenes with a simple look.

Posted: 9/25/13 at 7:15pmJust finished watching. Thought it was dreadful. It tries so hard to be The Wonder Years for the 80's...and misses by a mile.

I watched Lucky 7 on a dare and didn't find much to praise. The actors aren't great, but their characters are poorly drawn. The first 20 minutes were so bad I almost shut it off, but then something happened I wasn't expecting and stuck out the rest of the pilot.
Honestly it could be pulled as quickly as Zero Hour.

Posted: 9/25/13 at 8:43pmOmg I just watched Goldberg's. I thought it was horrible. All it was was annoying people yelling at each ofher. The worst stereotypes. Im sick of narrations too. Trophy Wives was pretty good. Still think Mom was best so far.

I didn't like The Goldbergs enough to ever watch it again. I found Trophy Wife abhorrent. It's the first time I have not loved Baby Girl from The Comeback, and I actually loathed her in this. Bradley Whitford is vile. It's unfortunate because I worship Marcai Gay Harden and Michaela Watkins, but never again.
On the other hand I laughed from beginning to end of Mom.

I'm with Whizzer; I found the Goldbergs trying way too hard with too little to show for it, while Trophy Wife shows promise and Brooklyn Nine-Nine my favorite new comedy by far. (At least until I get to see some Michael J. Fox Show tonight.)
The best part of the Goldbergs pilot, for me, was the last minute with the actual home movie footage. It kind of won back some good will in me, understanding what a labor of love it must have been. That said, it wasn't a very fruitful labor, and I won't be tuning in next week, but at least I can give it a pass because of that last minute.

I haven't watched The Goldbergs yet, but I by how much I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed Trophy Wife. Typically, Malin Akerman as the title character is the least interesting. My favorite character by far was the littel Asian kid, Bert played by Albert Tsai. He was hilarious. Rico Rodriquez (Manny on Modern Family), who I find to be absolutely talent free, could learn a thing or two from that kid.
