THE worst commerccial on TV

I know we've done this before but they have re-launched the most appalling ad campaign in history: Charmin's charming cartoon bears with a feces fetish. This new one features a mom bear worried that her daughter "always takes too much" and has to cut her down to only 3 sheets of Charmin. Of course, three sheets are enough as they demonstrate with a two stacks of TP, a squirt bottle and a handprint that clearly shows "something" leaked through the TP to the hand.

I look forward to the reruns of a previous commercial that used a clenched fist and a smear of Toothpaste to show how thoroughly Charmin wipes.

Usually I'm a first amendment absolutist, but everyone responsible for these ads should be rounded up and imprisoned.

I still say they're not as bad as all those people who get off on huffing Febreze off carpets, clothes and furniture. Especially the kid who was doing it in his parents' laundry.

I don't like those diesel perfume commercials. Anyone can film a person running through a hall or blowing out a candle.

re: THE worst commerccial on TV

None of the really awful ones are up on You Tube but here's one that does capture the parent bear's bizarre attention to how much TP the kid uses.

And of course the totally gay reference to "Bear Bottoms."

Carl's Jr. commercials. All of them.

re: THE worst commerccial on TV

ummm....how about Pizza Hut's fudgy commercials? The little girl who hugs the poo?
And it had the kid from the nanny in it.

btw, I actually like the animation in the Charmin commercials...same illustrator as one of my favorite children's books.

My current most-loathed commercial is the one for the Rose Cottage- a pink playhouse with a stove, a washer and a baby so "your little girl can live out her dreams!" Apparently Playskool thinks the women's lib movement never happened.

The one that has annoyed me for the past 2 years is Overstock's "O-O-O, the big big O, Overstock dot com. Buy online, saves you time, gifts for dad and mom." (Sung to the tune of Jingle Bells.) They'ed played it for 2 Christmas seasons, and I'm wondering if they will resurrect it again this year.

I cannot bear the Learning Center pitches.

"My son is failing..."

"You've made the right call..."

And then within moments, a kid is robotically sitting in a cubicle with a Stepford clone standing above, finally savoring the 3 R's like Helen Keller at the water pump. The phrase, "You've made the right call..." sets my teeth on edge.

Did you all know that as of February 17, 2008 all TV sets that receive analog signals will no longer brodcast, but if you recieve cable your TV will still work just fine? And, I say that with a southern accent for some reason! That drives me NUTS! I do however miss....Hello METEOR!

Nothing but ads for personal injury lawyers and motorized wheel chairs.

re: THE worst commerccial on TV

Two words: Eagle Man. If you live in the Chicagoland area, you should know what I'm talking about. They're the corniest, most low-budget commercials I've ever seen! Plus, Eagle MAN lays an egg.

Also, that commercial for motorized wheelchairs. Cue an octogenarian shouting "Come on kids, let's ROLL!" while zooming around in his chair.

I'm also not very fond of that Quizno's commercial where that man can't figure out the correct letter for "Mmmmm...", and the Popeyes commercial with the "Tell me what's yo flava!" song.

The one that also makes me cringe (and laugh) is the middle-aged garage band singing "Viva Viagara" (to the tune of Viva Las Vegas).

Pretty much any local commercial that airs in South Carolina (where I live) makes me cringe a little.

Oh, I love motorized scooter commercials. A practically ancient woman singing "Dear Mr. Gable" to her scooter? Brilliance.

However, I really don't like Olive Garden commercials. Do their creators know they aren't remotely witty?

ChiSquared62-Those Eagle Man commercials kinda scare me. They're really creepy!
