TV theme songs are a key part of my family's tv watching experience. No matter what we are doing or how many times we've seen the episode, my mother and I always stop to do the claps in the Friends theme. Plus I LOVE having my mom sing the Veronica Mars theme song with me.
There have been a lot of great themes mentioned, but I have to throw in another:
bet we've been together- for a million years
And I'll bet we'll be together for a million more
But it's like I started dreaming
Of the night we kissed
And I can't remember what I ever did before
What did we do baby
Without us?
What did we do baby
Without us?
And there ain't no nothing
We can't love each other through
What did we do baby
Without us?
Sha la la la
*le sigh* I love that Family Ties theme
I like this one too:
My eyes are getting weary. My back is getting tight.
I’m sitting here in traffic on the Queensborough Bridge tonight.
But I don’t care 'cause all I want to do
Is cash my check and drive right home to you.
Cause Baby, all my life, I will be driving home to you.

I loved the opening to The Odd Couple...the spoken words followed by the music.
Other instrumental faves...The Rockford Files and Little House on the Prairie.
P.S. Kitzy...I loved the claps in 90210!

My favorite of all the sung ones is:
There's a time for love and a time for living. You take a chance and face the wind.
An open road and a road that's hidden a brand new life around the bend.
There were times when I lost a dream or two.
Found the trail, and at the end was you.
There's a path you take and a path not taken the choice is up to you my friend.
Nights are long but you might awaken
To a brand new life, brand new life, brand new life around the bend.

Never having seen an episode of 90210, I'm afraid I'm out of the loop
I do remember singing the "Saved by the Bell" theme song while waiting for the bus in elementary school!
I remember, blueroses. Swoozie Kurtz and Tony Randall...sweet song.
And that little girl - Katrina whats-her-name. So cute.

Was Sidney openly gay? Or am I remembering it wrong?
He was.
Actually, if I remember correctly, Sydney was supposed to be gay, but it in the end, he had no love life and it was never mentioned.
Therefore, Ellen Morgan was truly the first lead gay character on television.
Well, thank you, Mr. Television.

I remember Donna Pescow portrayed an openly gay character on All My Children in the '80s, but I guess she wasn't technically a lead.
Didn't she always play gay characters?
I am not Mr. Television, missy.
Twelvy is.
Yes, Donna did play gay for a short while on AMC, but it didnt go over well enough.
I loved Angie.

She's in the backseat waiting for Tony Manero.
Well, the way she played 'em...
And since when does EVERYONE get to call him Twelvy? Huh??
He told me I could....and that he likes me better than you.
Did not.
Bitch.
One of my exes once sang the Carol Burnett theme to me after I had broken up with him. It made me feel terrible.
Terrible? Should have confirmed your decision.
No, we had broken up because I had taken a job in another city and had to move. So it actually fit for the moment. This was after an hour of him crying, too. It was really about the worst I had ever felt at the end of a relationship.
