My Big Fat Greek Wedding is the best comedy in nearly 20 years. I absolutley thought it was brilliant, touching, warmhearted, and hysterical. So, needless to say I was anxious for the show. My Big Fat Greek Life, in short, was a big fat greek mess.
FAST TIMES (at Ridgemont High) DELTA HOUSE (based on Animal House - featured a young Michelle Pfeiffer) HOT L BALTIMORE THE NEW ODD COUPLE (all black cast) BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (black cast)
The unfortunate thing about My Big Fat Greek Life was that once it went to series, there was a writing team brought in...which is common. The result is that I think it lost a lot of its original "voice" and became a little to gimmicky. Too bad. It had such a great cast, and the movie was fantastic.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Yes it was. It was based on elements contained in the original novel by Robert Wilder and the 1949 film by Michael Curtiz. The character of "Lane" was played by Joan Crawford in the film and by Cristina Raines in the 1980 TV series. Only the character's last name was changed from Bellamy in the movie to Ballou in the series.
I loved the Clerks animated series. I remember it being pretty funny. I think if Fox picked it up and ran it with Simpsons and Family Guy it would do quite well.
