I think it's okay in moderation--it makes muscles look more defined.
Not a fan of the tan line, nor of the crows' feet that accompany...
I stay out of the sun as much as I can, which is why I still look so fresh and youthful. That, and the really ugly painting in my attic.

I have a funny story/warning about tanning. My brother's girlfriend worked in a tanning salon so she was always baked and she convinced him to do it for free after hours so they did...in the buff. Turns out scorching your crotch with UV rays can be quite painful.
Plus I don't think it ever looks natural. You can always tell who actually went on spring break and who just went to the salon.

Posted: 3/12/07 at 6:31pmyea i'd never go to a tanning bed. i tan way too easily to have to resort to that. all i need is a good half hour or hour out in the sun and i'm good. i'm also a lifeguard and swim instructor so by the end of each summer i am VERY DARK. except i also get terrible tan lines which i think i still have from last summer. so my friends tell me i should go to a tanning salon to even that out but no i dont need to ruin my skin with that, i ruin it enough by being out in the sun 6 hrs a day every day during the summer, at least i'm getting paid for that, rather than paying to lay in a tanning bed.

Posted: 3/12/07 at 7:30pmI have skin cancer already and I've never tanned. A bunch of my friends go tanning, so I guess my frequent visits to the dermatologist haven't taught them anything. If I am in the sun, or UV light for that matter, I'll turn lobster red then go back to pale. I'm never tan, but I like being pale. It makes me stand out more in the summer!

I think you look great as you are.
:)
I will tan every 3 years (and by tan, I mean get peachy). This summer is my time. I'm going to Ireland too...so I'm excited for my wardrobe, and that it will include SHORTS! It's an excitement I can't explain to naturally tan or peachy people.

I also have a naturally olive complection and tan easily, but I don't get outside as much as I wish during the summer. Since my grandparent's apartment complex has a tanning bed, I'm seriously considering a few 15 minute sessions to jump start me into the season.
I know what you mean by getting VERY DARK Rose--the summer I was a lifeguard I looked hispanic by the end. And that was WITH wearing SPF 35+ every day.

But yea my mother also ends up calling me her black child, cuz i get like 3 shades darker than both of my siblings and we are all full white caucasion, i guess i just tan really easily and spend way too much time out in the sun (working!).
