Sharon Angle tried to defend her recent campaign adds depicting scary looking Hispanics by claiming she didn't know the men in the add were Hispanic. She then went on to tell he audience full of Hispanic kids that many of them looked a little Asian. She even implied that she had been mistaken for Nevada's first Asian legislator.
It terrifies me that some of these nut jobs are about to end up in Congress.

Posted: 10/19/10 at 11:00amYep, this is NOT Paladino or O'Donnell; Angle is in a very tight race with Harry Reid, and may very well be a member of the senate very soon. The senate is dysfunctional by nature; it will only get worse if the likes of Angle, Miller, Buck, Raese, etc get elected. Keep in mind that a single senator can be very destructive. Beyond the filibuster, which needs 40 votes, a single senator can hold up judicial nominations and stop bills from getting out of committee.

Followed by the lovely Ms. O'Donnell, who apparently questioned whether the separation of church and state is actually part of the first amendment in a radio debate yesterday.
While it's true that Angle is involved in the closest race, I really can't see how a statement like hers can endear her to anyone outside of racists and fringe crazies.

This won't matter to the Tea Party Crowd. They would rather have a dumb down to earth person like them in office than a smart,educated elitist. Someone you could have a beer with vs. a limousine latte liberal.A friend of mine has said for months that her and her boyfriend are looking at moving to France.They believe this country is becoming to dumb and moving backwards. They started talking about this soon after the Tea Party crowd was born(on Obama's first day on the job)I laughed it off but after talking to them a week ago, they are very serious about this. Plan on waiting to see how the 2012 election goes,but they have the 'learn French in your car' cd's and are doing their research. I may join them.

I hate to nitpick...OK, I LOVE to nitpick...but you have to love a post that complains about how dumb America is becoming, but contains a couple of grammatical errors.

She also said that thos scary-looking Latino--er, Asian--people in her ads were actually scary-looking *Canadians* because, you know, that's the dangerous border politicians are harping on, the one with Canada.
"Our Northern border is where the terrorists came through," Angle told a group of Hispanic students last week. "That's the most porous border that we have."
