Tea Party candidate: A witch (literally) who lied about her campaign funds

Sarah Palin did the exact same thing. When they found out how stupid she was they refused to let her go on the Sunday Talk shows. Obama, McCain, and Biden did,but the Quiter from Alaska!

The witchcraft story sounds like an experience she made up based on reading a Jack Chick tract. I dated a Wiccan for several years, and the only thing I ever saw him sacrifice was the money he used (while unemployed) to buy roots (dried leaves) and essences (dyed, scented sugar water) from the local new age shop.

I really can't see how some of these candidates can win.
Rand Paul has enough racist soundbites to fill an EP length montage on youtube.
This O'donnell character is like a gift for the Dems given what her closet has to offer.

But what's really scary is that they know how to manipulate emotion at the expense of logic, or even basic reason. And that seems to be getting votes. Lots and lots of votes.

And the Dems are just a mess. A MESS. They can't even get a coherent message out there. All Obama is doing is apologizing and saying "we have more to do". His economic plans have not worked yet, and while it may be true that they will take more time, he NEEDS to actively talk about it in positive terms. Loudly. And constantly.

Here's food for thought:

I kinda hops that the GOP do make some gains in the mid-terms. A lot of the Tea Party people are moderate republicans who feel that due to the majority of Dems in congress they don't have a voice.

It was the same thing when Bush and GOP ruled both houses and we on the left felt powerless. So Obama swept into office on a tide of emotion.

My point is this: with the House and and the Senate more evenly split some of those right wingers may feel more represented and therefore less inclined to support a radical off-shoot group like the Tea Party.

What do you guys think about that?

You're right, of course. But "more articulate than Palin" doesn't exactly leap off the resume as a qualification for anything.

They just had a heated debate about the witchcraft on the view.

Whoopi was gone, Barbara was quiet, Joy was on a witch hunt, Shari thought "Hey, we've all done something we're not proud of.", and the best was Elizabeth who wants the media to re-examine the Obama and his radical minister thing because it didn't go far enough two years ago.

Not that I'm going to put an O'Donnell sign in my front yard, but I think it's ridiculous to make this whichcraft thing into a major issue. It's something from her past that she has renounced publicly and I'm willing to overlook it.

The thing about the witchcraft flub is that a lot of Tea Party people are right wing extremists. So while it may not be something that we would hold against one of our candidates, they most certainly will hold it against one of their own.
