That aside, what you're left with to embrace is the ideological stance - and as has been discussed before, while you can flow with his philosophies, they send me into oblivion. If your parents are Republicans the best way to handle your trip into the city is simply to point out that their party has everything well in hand. Bloomberg, Pataki and Bush are on the case and have thrown enough armor at us to make sure no one bothers you and I'm sure that the National Guard will escort you to the theater.
Seriously, this is the same as the threats on 7/4, and 5/31 and every other federal holiday. They have to tell us what they know and have heard but that doesn't mean it will happen today or any day. Unfortunately, we need to come to grips with what the rest of the world has lived with for quite some time and we're acting like no other country in the world has ever experienced what we are going through. Talk to people who were born in the U.K. or Ireland or the Middle East. Welcome to the Planet...U.S. of A.
