I kind of like the show. Granted, the short attention span, mostly referential humor that's in every tv show (both live action and animated) is old shtick at this point, but I like it a bit. It's pointless and weird.

Except for it's title, it doesnt resemble the original at all. The casting, writing and directing are all wrong. I'm not sure if it wouldve transferred well regardless.
What really strikes me is that Jane Turner and Gina Riley are Exec. Producers of this crap.
I got all excited when I saw that Bravo was showing a string of K&K episodes, assuming Bravo would show the Aussie version, but alas, it's reruns of the American version.

Yep, I don't know why things just get lost in translation over here except for the "Office". I really tried to stick with it but I gave up last night. It's horrible!!!
I realized I can only handle Molly S. for 5-6 minutes at a time, a la Mary Katherine Gallagher on SNL reruns. A whole half hour of that is too much. Selma Blair: NOT FUNNY!!! Mikey Day: MORON who can't act. The only half redeeming part of the show is the guy who plays Phil Knight. I loved him in "Best in Show" and countless other movies. He's HELLA FUNNY.
Other than that this whole production is a bloody awful mess.

Agreed, Phyllis.
Although I have seen some glimpses of what could be a funny show. Selma Blair's character is just intolerable and the two men are just annoying losers. I feel Molly Shannon is the only one who does a good job at being trashy, dumb, and funny. Still, the material they give her is awful and it's just hard to care. Can't believe they picked it up for a whole season.

As far as U.S. remakes are concerned, never forget that ALL IN THE FAMILY and SANFORD & SON were based on British sitcoms.

I don't get the point of remaking it when the premise of the Australian show is satirising suburban Australians, which is also why it's funny. And I don't get why you would cast someone like Molly Shannon who is far more annoying than funny

I watched a full 30 seconds of it while I was waiting for The Office to start, and I have to say, I chuckled a few times.

They put the two leads in tiny clothing. That tends to make series renewable.

I think it is very funny. It is definitely an acquired taste but I am enjoying it. I thought this week's episode was funny, and the one where they went to the gay bar was hysterical.

NBC 'recycled' alot of shows and show ideas from other countries this year, rather than create their own, due to the shortened development season as a result of the writer's strike.
So far not all of the ideas have been working for them.
