Whoa!! This is so cool- we could be neighbors and not know it. I assume you live in River Oaks, if you live a block from SJ??? Yea, I know Ben. He was Ugly in the middle school prod. of HONK, and I was Drake, the dad. And in sixth grade when he was "new" (I'd been there since 2nd grade), I was his "buddy" to help him know the school and have a friend and stuff.
For the audition I'm doing a monologue from Lost in Yonkers, and a monologue from Over the Tavern, and I'm singing Something's Coming from WSS, I think. I keep changing my mind between like 15 songs. I might just decide there.

did you go to the open house thing? they said that something like 100-200 kids audition and around 30 get it, and then around 12 actually graduate. WOW.

i don't really know what the chances are. they said if they didn't find enough talented kids, they'd take less than thirty so they don't just fill up the spots, you first have be a certain level of "good enough". im thinking though, that being a boy is an advantage.
i love really most sondheim (into/woods, sunday/george, gypsy, wss, sweeney), and the '98 revival of cabaret. right now i'm going through a "new musicals" phase, so i'm listening to a bunch of those, too.
You?

sondheim - favs are Assassins and PAcific OVertures (the recent revivals were Amazing!!) i also am a huge Taboo, Caroline or Change, Avenue Q, Amour and Hair fan. thats in a nutshell. lol. my mom has family in NYC so we go every winterbreak and thats how i see so many bway shows. do ur friends know that u go on bww. i mean, hardly any of mine know that im a bway fan. its weird. lol...

my close friends know i'm obsessed with broadway, but i don't know of any of my friends who post on bww. it'd be cool if they did and i didn't know it, though. my best friend's moms family is from new york and his mom's sisters still live there (i don't know why she'd move to HOUSTON) and so i go with them every memorial day weekend (or labor day... I always get confused... the one in may/june) and sometimes at thanksgiving. then i go on antique shopping trips up there with my mom occasionally, she's an interior designer, and my grandparents used to liver there so they go every 2 years or so and i usually tag along, and all we do is see broadway shows. we schedule everying so we go at a time when we can see as many 2-show days as possible.
you're so lucky you have family! how was assasins? i though it would be less effective in studio-54 becuase from what i've read, they hardly changed the house layout/design. do you think the recording is worth picking up?
