I'm getting nervous. Tommorow is April Fool's Day. Usually someone I know finds a way to do something to me that involves putting a clown in my range of vision. Grrrrrrrr...... I think I'll call in sick tommorrow.

This was the only one I had the courage to open on Google Images. The other ones scared me too much.

I've always been terrified of clowns. Every year my dad would take my sister and I to the Ringling Bros. circus when it came to town. As soon as the clowns showed up, I'd crawl under my seat and I wouldn't come out until they were gone. I still get the creeps when I see a clown painting or figurine.

Aww thanks guys! I saw this thread and was like "Oh I should be representin' the clowns!". Little did I know, it was bumped with me in mind re: The *OFFICIAL* 'I hate clowns ' thread... The Crimson Clown from Are You Afraid Of The Dark? is very humbled by the attention

I don't have any horror stories, but, as a child, I never found anything funny about clowns.

When I saw Cirque du Soleil and their clowns about 8 years ago for the first time in NYC, my first reaction was WTF.

I never understood the sad hobo clowns. Are homeless guys that hilarious? We need to point and laugh at them? And why do old ladies need to collect paintings of them? WTF? I knew an old lady who was OBSESSED with traditional clowns. She had paintings and sculptures and figurines made of gooey-looking glass. All clowns, all the time. Her husband developed Alzheimers and went crazy, but I know it was really the clowns. They were my ex's relatives and I always dreaded visiting them because all they did was stare at the TV while we sat on the couch. Surrounded by clowns. For hours. EEEEEK!!!

I don't think clowns are funny, either looking or acting. I'd like to know who invented them.
