Let's face it, a pretty dreary show.
And Ellen's material is lame and so not a follow-up to her infamous and brilliant post 9/11 appearance. It points up, alas, how toothlessly non-cutting-edge she is becoming. Please, ladies room lines jokes? She's simply had some bad advice about remaining bland and safe.

The show's not terrible. Carson tribute, Brokaw and Rather reunion, the Family Guy clips, 2 Emmys for the Stewart team...all it needs is more Ellen!
