I'm quite bummed by this evening's results.
Felicity?!
Patricia Arquette?!
Raymond?!
This just goes to show that the Television Academy is so unpredictable in their voting. Desperate Housewives not winning is the bigget upset in recent memory.
I think Felicity was more deserving than Teri. But, when all said and done, Kaczmereck (sp) deserved to not be nominated with Longoria taking her place, as she is one of the best things about D.H. If it was up to me, however, I'd have given the award to Marcia Cross in a heartbeat as she gave the most underrated, uproarous, thrilling, and campy performance in some time. She is the best thing about Desperate Housewives, which also deserved the Emmy for Best Comedy Series (a category which it most likely will win next year...there are hardly any good comedies coming this season)
yaaaaaawwwwwwwnnnnnn...same old boring winners...
Did anyone notice Eric Mccormack's face? I think he had a little too much botox this morning...
Just had to pop in and say HOOORAAAY for Felicity Huffman! I love her, and was SHOCKED that she won. Congrats!!!
Ugh, Everybody Loves Raymond should NOT have won. Just because it was the last season, they get all this attention. What about Arrested Development, which has scraped past a cancellation 2 years in a row, but is better than all the other nominees? They had 3/5 best comedy writing nominations for heaven's sake, how does that not make them the best comedy?!
Sorry, I just hate when they give out awards just because the shows are ending when they don't deserve them.

I was really pretty pleased with the Emmy Awards this year. The past several years I've found them very boring. It had been the same nominees for so many dang years (Sex and the City, Friends, The Sopranos, etc.) that everything was very predictable. So many of those shows have gone off the air within the last two years that there is finally room for new things!
Oh, and I'm also plugging the fact that the incredible entire Season One of Desperate Housewives comes out on Tuesday, along with the show's CD which features Idina Menzel!
Not like it needs to be plugged, but Season Two of D.H. begins next Sunday at 9pm!
As long as we're plugging, Lost's season premiere is this Wednesday at 9! (Show up at 8 for a recap episode of season one.)
Ooo, they're recapping? That's good. Then again, it's bad. I missed the second half of the first season (last class, still bitter) and still need to get the DVDs.
Should I start up with season 2 before I've seen all of season 1? Or should I wait and *ahemdownload* the second season after I get the DVDs? Suggestions?

The highlight for me was the surprise apearance of little Charles Evans, the Katrina survivor in the Spngebob Teeshirt.
Was he the one with the young guy from Everyone Hates Chris? I thought he was wearing a tuxedo.
And yay LOST!

so was I the only one who's jaw hit the floor when Patrica Arquette won? I mean, she was good. But Frances Conroy deserved that award (even though i was rooting for Matriska who is an eastern european goddess).
oh and YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for Felicity. She is amazing (SPort's Night was such a great, underrated show).
and S. Epatha was hillarious during her speech.
It was even more painful the second time around. What was with the random added singing during the guitar solo? Ew.
Are the other performances available online? I missed William Shatner's and heard it was funny.

I thought the tribute to Johnny was one of the best I've ever seen - and I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Letterman wrote his part himself.
Jon Stewart's vid clip made me howl.
I wasn't thrilled by any win, but only truly angry about Frances Conroy losing to Patricia Arquette.
Raymond is actually very funny and one of the best ensembles on TV. Not sure if any of you that hate it actually watch it.
I'm not one to watch shows I dislike with the intensity I dislike RAYMOND, I have watched it. I find it boring, bitter, and uninspired. I have a visceral urge to throw things at the televison when the show comes on.

Ditto.
My true irrational hatred is for Patricia Heaton. I find her thoroughly unlikable.
Fair enough. I've watched Raymond since season one (when no one did) and always found it entertaining. Then again, I'm part of an Italian family, so I think I related to it a little more.
