I don't think there is a comeback. Oprah or no Oprah. She hasn't gone away long enough to have successfully recover. Who anyway is suggesting Oscar buzz? Oprah?

Ummmm I just read the major critics reviews of her performance. Most panned it. Not sure what color the sky is in your world. How long has it been since she played Elizabeth Taylor? I will not hold my breath about the Oscar nomination.

I liked her in many parts of the film (as a whole she and the film were a little uneven, mainly thanks to the writing)....but Oscar buzz? Lol not a chance

THE CANYONS proved her to be an actress with a lot of raw emotionalism, but no technique. (She distinguished herself among a group of amateurs.) Technique requires discipline and, if what we know of Lindsay thus far, discipline is a bit of a bugbear for her. Stay tuned.

There is not going to be an Oscar run. She got great notices in The New Yorker, Variety, and Film Comment among major publications (also often called the best thing in negative reviews of the movie) which she should definitely take as a victory and as Borstal says a step more in the direction of where she can now play an adult and refine her acting technique. But Oscars require campaigning by a strong studio. The Canyons was a Kickstarter project picked up by IFC Films. Not happening.

I like her a lot and it's been a while since I have seen her this happy in public but both Paul Schrader and Bret Easton Ellis mentioned she was constantly taking uppers during the making on the movie. I hope this is a step in the right direction for her and not just some brief phase a la Courtney Love when she was acting in major prestige projects.

It got 22 on Rotten Tomatoes. Most reviews stated that Lindsey was the best thing in the movie because everyone else couldn't act. With revues like that yes I smell Oscar!

Have to say I quite liked James Deen in the movie, he's not gonna set the acting world alight but I though he played this role pretty well, a more sinister version of Sebastian from Cruel Intentions

I thought Lindsay was surprisingly good hosting Chelsea Lately and she looked great, too. The guest who came on for her to interview was weirdly cold to her in the beginning.

The only way she can make a comeback is if she becomes insurable again. They took a huge chance on her with this movie, going in with no insurance behind it because no company would cover her. Until she can change that no major studio is going to be willing to cast her in anything.

This. It took Robert Downey Jr. years to be insurable again, especially after blowing it in such a high-profile way when he relapsed during Ally McBeal when he was a crucial character to the show.

Well RDJ is a man so his "comeback" is irrelevant.

the critics are remembering how Lindsay's turn in 'Bobby' wowed them and are now taking her seriously again.

She's newly sober and ready to snatch the awards right from Emma Stone's ugly pale ass hands!
