A bunch of friends recommended it to me, and I absolutely loved it. I'm sure some may find it corny, but I fell in love with it (I just finished it)...It is SO sad.
Anyone else LOVE it?

i loved it too... however, the book is even better. actually, i really like all of nicholas sparks' books. (a walk to remember was one of his too... as was message in a bottle, and i hated the movie, loved the book)
I loved this movie. I cried like a sissy bitch. ( Well thats because thts what I am). ANyway; I saw it on the big screen and just bought a copy of it this week.
Midnight~ I didn't know that the notebook and a walk to remember were both written by nicholas sparks...I definitely got the "a walk to remember" vibe throughout the whole thing, meaning, I, like dame cried like a sissy bitch (but i dont have an excuse!)...Ughh it was SO good...I can't believe it took me this long to see it...

Would you reccomend "A walk to remember"?
Dame~ DEFINITELY! It is alot like "The notebook" in many ways...ahh, another great movie!! And bring several boxes of tissues. seriously, it's worse than "the notebook!"

i didn't like message in a bottle movie cause i really didn't like the cast. it wasn't how i pictured them. and jwei, i highly suggest reading the books, and there's a sequal to the notebook called the wedding (and they changed the ending in the movie from the book). personally, i always think the book is better. but yeah, i'm a hugh nicholas sparks fan.
I'm definitely going to read the "notebook" and the "wedding"...wow im really excited now! :)

if you like those two, read them all. they're all worth it. there's (and now that you've got me started, you're gonna get the list as well as i can remember it anyway): message in a bottle, a walk to remember, the notebook, a bend in the road, the guardian, the notebook, the rescue, and nights in rodanthe. then there's his autobiography type of thing that he published last year with his brother called, three weeks with my brother, which i haven't read yet cause it's still only in hardcover, and then his newest which isn't published yet called, true believer. but i've read all the rest and i really enjoyed them.
Well you say they're even better as books (most things are, i think) so this is SO excited. Wow I am going to go on a Sparks binge! haha thanks for the list :)

I loved The Notebook. I read it long before the movie was even talked about in coming out. The one and only time I have bawled my eyes out at the end of a book. I also adored the sequel book, "The Wedding."
I was quite pleased that the movie version of The Notebook held so true to the book, but for 'sap' value, the book itself definitely holds out for me.
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
I prefer A Walk To Remember over The Notebook, aside from the fact that Ryan Gosling is exceptional and is pretty much the highlight of any film he's in.

He (and Scott Vickaryous) are the only reasons to watch Breaker High! Man, Ryan Gosling was my 8th grade crush...
saw this movie on an airplane...NOT FAIR...bawled my eyes out...the flight attendant came to see if I was OK......
I was mesmerized bby Ryan grosling.
I'm not a fan. It is sappy and overly sentimental. Gena Rowlands and James Garner were pretty good, though.
Rachel MacAdams was tremendous, I thought.
I loved rachel in it. I'll have to admit that at the beginning of the movie I was expecting her to say something like "Stop trying to make fetch happen," but she really did a great job. Ahh i still can't get over it!

Yeah, I had to check my pride at the door at this one. I was a mess. Sure, it was sappy and overdone but it did those things well, rather than just being cloying. I really liked Gosling and McAdams, too.
The final argument between the two is not only heartbreaking but also exactly what you wanted/needed to be said.
I did think the ending (very end) was sweet, but not needed to make this a top notch film.
The extras are fun to watch - especially Rachel's screen test, where she completely NAILED the emotions of Alli...
I loved this movie. I cried like a baby after it was over. In the theatres, as the credits were rolling, no one moved. Everyone just hugged the person they were next to. I've never seen anything like it.
Technically, this movie should not have been as effective as it turned out. The screenplay is contrived and sappy. However, it is a testment to the strength of the cast (specifically Ryan Gosling, Gena Rowlands, James Garner, and especially Rachel McAdams) that I actually cared deeply about Noah and Allie. I especially loved how McAdams ditched her "Regina George" screen persona. I forgot who I was watching after five minutes.
I don't usually like over-sentimental love stories, but I really felt that this one came from a good place. "Noah... do you think our love can work miracles?" :sniffle:

I loved this movie - it was beautiful. And I teared.
I went to see this movie, loved it (and cried my eyes out). After the movie, I went into the bathroom and their were probably twenty girls inside bawling and asking each other if their mascara was all messed up. (their boyfriends were all waiting outide rolling their eyes!)
