The Official "brag about your best roles" Thread :-)

This is just for fun! Not to be mean. Its just cool to see who else has played the same parts as you. And its fun to brag sometimes The Official

Last year, I did the Voice of Audrey II in our Little Shop. That was so much fun because I got this cool echo with my voice through the mic. And I'm a girl and I got to show that girls can KICK BUTT at being the voice of the plant haha.

This year, I played Brooke/Vicki in Noises Off. It wasn't the part that made it so fun, necessarily (though I did get a lot of attention from my costume lol), but the show is just so great. I had such a good time.

Just a few days ago I found out that I will be Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof! I'm so excited. We have a really good cast with a lot other seniors. Our grade happens to be awesome like that.

Yay!

Please post your favorite roles here!

I guess my best roles would have had to be Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest. That was really fun to do. Also, Jedadiah Schultz with some other parts recently in Laramie. A lot of nice sized monologues.
...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

Well I have two.

For musicals...well I've only been in one but still, ZACH in A CHORUS LINE. I can't dance and can barely sing. So I LOVED having this awesome role that was just kind of there and while I challenged myself with the dancing (didn't do alot of singing lol) I also got to challenge myself acting wise.

And then for a straight play, there's a tie:
For a full length play/character, it'd be, hands down, JIM in THE GLASS MENAGERIE. We did it with our Drama teacher playing Amanda, she was amazing! Getting to work with her as opposed to for her was really a learning experience. It was also my first big role at my school, and now people finally realize I like acting lol.

And then for like one scene of a play it'd have to be KAFKA in WORDS,WORDS,WORDS. Our mainstage was ALL IN THE TIMING and we casted each scene with different people (HUGE cast lol). Getting to play a monkey, and not only a monkey but a monkey "version" of Franz Kafka was awesome. Real great part because while he's a funny character, you can really research it and get a whole new look on it.

Holy Hell...the long post is over

Abby in Arsenic and Old Lace was an amazing expeirience, I had a lot of fun with that cast and role!

I've never really had any "lead" roles, but the best part I ever played was when I was a temptress in Godspell. It was a part made up for just girls who wanted to dance. Not that the part was really big, but there was always some separation in our musicals between "dancers" and "singers" and this show brought us all together. We grew really close as a cast and I believe that I performed really well in that show too. So even though it wasn't a lead part it was still my "best role".

I've also never had an actual 'lead' lead in a musical/full-length play.

My favorites though? Mayor's Wife in Birdie, Nightingale of Sanmakand in Mattress, and a wife in Joseph... (even though it was chorus, that show rocked hardcore.)
And right now I'm playing Naomi in Christopher Durang's short play Naomi in the Living Room for my final in my acting class, and let me tell you, that role is amazing. So much fun to play. :) I love playing an insane woman. lol

Favorite and probably most challenging role to this day is Clarence Odbody in It's a Wonderful life! We literally had to analyze everything since that's what are drama's do! Very rigorous role but rewarding

I played Perchik, too, which was a lot of fun. Though, I'm a guy.

Also, Lumiere was a ton of fun to play. Occasionally on those "dream roles" threads someone mentions Lumiere and I'm just like, "hehe, I got to do that."

And Hysterium in Forum. SO much fun!

My favorites:

Musicals -

Pick-A-Little in The Music Man:

It was decided that each Pick-A-Little would have a certain personality. Mine? Eccentric. So this basically gave me a good reason to ham it up as much as possible. I invented a crazy walk for the character, had a little solo during "Wells Fargo Wagon" [which I managed to make more and more funnier by each performance] and made everyone laugh! There's no greater feeling in the world than to make people laugh (or cry). It was the most fun I ever had in a role...mainly because the directors were supportive of my character choices.

Doc in West Side Story:

I know, a female Doc? Crazy! But it totally worked. I loved this part so much...because the character has a lot of depth. I had my own set, three pretty important scenes (especially the last one), and the chance to be funny *and* make people cry all in one show. But the BEST part was that I got to slap my friend (who was playing Tony) in the face! Well, not really... re: The Official 'brag about your best roles' Thread :-)

Plays -

God in The General of Hot Desire:

My director called upon me to jump in for someone else with less than a month left to competition. I pulled it off and won an award...so this role is sort of special to me - not just because of getting an award, but also because I got to work with such a great cast. And also because it was the role that got me recognized, in a sense. I got to portray God in a really bitter, "I'll pay you 20 dollars if you promise to shut up and leave me alone" sort of way which was different from any other role I'd done... it was a bit challenging, but overall a wonderful part to play.

[/end ramble] :)

Currently I'm playing Belle in Beauty and the Beast... so that's definately the best! I was Barbara in Night of the Living Dead, which was really random and fun, Annelle in Steel Magnolias, and Amy March in Little Women. Those are my favorites from community theater. Marian Paroo in the Music Man and Asaka in Once On This Island are probably my favorite from my old school's productions.

re: The Official 'brag about your best roles' Thread :-)

I loved every part i played.but the parts i think i really showed my skill in were jud fry -"Oklahoma" and the baker-"into the woods". as jud fry i took on the character i had very little rehersal.my director was really great.i requested to have only 5 rehersals to mark the specifics.then for the next three months i became jud fry.during the performance the audience expected me to play curly. when i made my first walk across the stage people gasped.it was amazing

i took the baker very lightly up until tech-week.by the time we opened ,i had worked things out so that every night i gave a different performance.during no more one night i started sobbing. i looked out into the audiance and caught half the audience crying as well.that was the moment i knew i had become an actor.

some other parts i've played include
emile-south pacific
val-babes in arms
billy-no no nanette
bobby-company
daniel-once on this island
