I was laying awake in bed and randomly could not fall asleep until I listened to Christmas Bells. So I listened to it, and then I listened to the good part again, and then I listened to it in German, and then I got text messages making fun of certain Rent fans, and then I got a call, and I haven't been sleepy since.
Everyone going tonight, have fun. I can't wait to hear the tales.
I hope everyone has a blast tonight!
Just joining everyone in saying have a great time tonight!
Today is the day, YAY!!!!!!! I wonder if the boys are nervous at all?
Adam is so going to forget his lines.
Probably not. Adam would just be "worried" that he would forget a line. Which is possible.
I don't think Anthony would be at all.
Broadway.com now lists Adam and Anthony as Roger and Mark on the Rent page!
I really hope Adam doesn't. Any mistakes made tonight are going to be HARPED on by the nay sayers!
I don't think they'll latch on mistakes -- the problem people have isn't that they aren't good enough, it's that they're too old. I mean, unless someone wants to assert that they're senile at 35-6, forgetting lines has nothing to do with being too old.
yes, but we have seen with anything else that the nay sayers will pick on anything. I really don't understand why this age thing is still an issue. If they were bringing in new leads at this age, ok I can see cause for concern, but these are THE originals. They have an ok in my book to come back with they are 60 if they want, ok exaggerating a bit but you get my point.
Plenty of recent leads have been their age. People just don't know it. The only reason people are complaining is that they KNOW how old Adam and Anthony are. If they were just random people being cast now and their ages weren't broadcast all over the place, would people say they look too old? No.
I may be wrong, but isn't Mimi the only one that actually has a defined age in the show???
It's pretty easy to estimate how old the rest of them might be, but yes, she's the only one whose age is written.
Well, of course, but I didn't know if anyone else was "defined". I don't know why but I always pictured most of the cast to be late 20's, so mid 30's doesn't throw me off that much. It's not like they are going to play the Spring Awakening boys.
Wasn't Tim Howar in his 30's?
I thought the characters were in their 20's, and Collins always struck me as being slightly older. But Mimi is the only one with a defined age. And I'm sure many actresses playing Mimi were WAY older than 19.
I think Adam and Anthony will do good. Their age doesn't bother me because they don't look old, so...

Read it! Good Q&A.
From the interview:
I don't write for anyone in particular, thinking "the young girls will love this" or "the 40-year-old gay guys will love this." I'm genuinely thankful for my fans.
Hey! Who's he callin' 40?!!

Hah!
He seems happy and content. Good for him! I'm so incredibly excited for tonight. orangeskittles and I spent literally an hour last night going back and forth with "I'M SO EXCITED."
Thanks, Lexi! That was a really good Q&A. It was nice to hear some new questions (as opposed to "How did you get your role in Rent?"), and he was really candid. I'm really happy for him
Are you and Skittles going tonight, Lexi?
It's so funny to have followed Q&A's this long and to see the total morphing into this "grown up" Adam. I can't wait! I'm going closing weekend cause I can't go today but I'm looking forward to everyone's news! :)

I know, right?! Not that I've followed them for as long as some people here have, but it's amusing nonetheless.
Yes, we're going tonight. I'm at work right now, and I SWEAR the hours are going by even more slowly than usual.
Nice Q&A! It's nice to know Adam's happy.
but he still has his sarcastic quirky sense of humor, and that is what I love most.
Precisely, Tink.
Don't grow up TOO much, Adam! We like the baby-face with the chipped black nail polish -- we really do!
wow, wonderful interview! I am really happy he's in such a good place in his life. I really can't wait to go to one of his "State of Mind" shows, they sound great. :)
today is the big day! keep us posted!!
Hah, yes, Adam has come a long way. I noticed the same thing when I was attempting to organize all the interviews I have bookmarked. Proof that his mind is working
