I'm happy to hear of all the happenings, but I'm still feeling sorry for myself that I can't join the madness.
So I made myself this and I'm using it at work. It's not as good as it could be, as I don't have photoshop or anything. But it makes me smile. =)
I had to shrink it a bit to post it though, so the older picture looks a little weird unfortunately.

aw. I can't take the nostalgia!
I've decided that the part I'm most looking forward to is Goodbye Love.
i look forward to Happy New Year and Goodbye Love. Well, and now I am especially intrigued by this I'm Roger Shimmy. Leaving in an hour for the train station, yay!
I hope that wasn't just a one time thing! It was so cute!

Hee. And Glory, of course. I know that'll be what does me in. I'm normally not a crier, but it's inevitable.
I'll Cover You(Reprise) is usually the only one that moves me to actual tears, but I am packing plenty of tissues just in case.

And he and Tamyra got kind of cozy during the "they call me, they call me Mimi" line in Light My Candle - it looked like they were slow dancing. so cute.
have fun tonight, tink!! and to anyone else who is going
Em, that got me too, but not as much as I thought it might. What got me was Your Eyes. Oh, boy.

I was very lucky to be there too! I had terrific seats, and I sat next to a women who had no idea what was happening....I gladly clued her in...this was her first time seeing Rent!
I thought they both did a fabulous job...and meshed really well with the rest of the terrific cast...and as for the age thing...WOW....they look as young now as they did when they began the show! how do they do it! I hope anyone who can go see them ...will...they were wonderful!
I don't cry much. The only thing in rent that can get me in that state is "I'll Cover You (Reprise)" and possibly "Your Eyes" if the person playing Roger does it well enough. Which I hope Adam will.
And I'm also excited about his One Song Glory.
They did get cosy - he had his arms wrapped around her, in contrast to how he used to do it. He did change up quite a few things like that. I'm no expert, but my impression is that Anthony did things basically the way he's always done them, with a few extra flourishes and more intensity, if possible, while Adam did more things differently. His Glory was essentially the same, though, very anguished.
Without You and Angel's Death/ICY:R usually make me cry, but the first time I saw Adam sing Glory live, I lost it. I didn't expect to. Hearing him do it live with the full arrangments is something that I was lucky to have experienced once... and when I did, I never thought I'd have that chance again. It's really mind-blowing.

I can't even imagine seeing his Glory live at Rent 10.
I thought they changed some stuff too, Chloe - like in Happy New Year. But the look on both their faces during "Rent" was priceless - they were both in character but they just let out these little smiles once in awhile to each other. It was so great.
What did everyone think of the rest of the cast?
I really can't wait for it, then. And I'm so happy that they're really good, and having fun.

I think, like Adam said in that interview, that since it's such a short run, they are really making each performance special.
Did Adam get all the lyrics right to "Another Day" ? I feel like a few lines were off, but I can never tell with that song. I'm the worst with remembering lyrics as it is
I know I'm a little late to join in here, but after last night I decided it was high time I joined in on this thread. I'm sure it's been said before, but you truly can't appreciate Adam's voice until you see him live. Although I've been following his career for quite a while, last night was the first time I got to see him perform and it beyond words. As if the other replies in this thread weren't enough of a testimonial to last night, I called a friend during intermission and had her order tickets for her and I to go next Monday. I already can't wait!
MissChung, to answer your questions, I think he might have messed up a few of the words to "Another Day", but like you, I can't keep the lyrics straight half the time. To be honest, my focus was never really on the rest of the cast, although I can say I was impressed with Joanne. Having looked at your pictures, did you get a good glance of the gray haired man wearing the suit in your shot of the final bows? He was two rows behind me (I was in row C) and as I was looking around at intermission, it seemed to me that he and Adam look a great deal alike, although it could've just been coincidence. Sorry for such a lengthy post- I hope all of you going to tonight's show have a great time!
Welcome LuckyStar! I'm glad you enjoyed the show as well. :)
I think I missed something, though-what pictures? I haven't seen any...

Oh, I know who you're talking about. I don't know who that was - he might have been related to Adam, but I have no idea what any of his relatives look like, hehe.
My attention was definitely on Adam and Anthony as well, but gI was curious going into it as to how well they'd blend with the rest of the cast.
Rent 10's Glory (the whole thing, really) was this funny sort of surrealism, visually, because they were all in everyday clothes.
Hi, LuckyStar.
Hi LuckyStar! I believe the pictures referred to are the ones misschung posted of the curtain call, GG.
Hm, I saw a white-haired man in a suit who looked a lot like Adam too. His hair was short and somewhat curly, and his facial features and especially smile looked very similar. He was talking to some people in Row E behind me on the far right.

Well, it's funny because I thought that Adam's final costume from last night looked like something close to what he'd regularly wear. But I know what you mean - usually, in Glory he's in the plaid pants and green sweater.
I feel like they unconsciously dress like their characters a bit anyway.
Or maybe it's the characters who dress like the actors. They created these roles, so their inherent styles and personalities must have informed the appearance of their characters.
Well, except for Wilson/Angel, I guess. :)
EDIT: Never mind...Found it!
In this thread. There have been a lot of posts since last night, so they might be several pages back.
Here's a link to an LJ entry about the show last night, with some pictures from the stage door. It does look quite dangerous.
