sorry flannel does nothing for me. reminds me of my dad
That's actually why I like flannel, because it reminds me of my Dad.
Flannel, when worn on the right person, can be VERY sexy (think Kurt Cobain not Canadian lumberjack ). When I did my Raul speech I wore this old flannel shirt of my dad's, a pair of rather awkwardly fitted jeans, and suspendors so I would look kinda like Jonathan Larson. I was trying to go for this, but it didn't turn out as nice:

flannel to me just screams 90s, which is why I love it. Remember when TLC used to wear it all the time? Those were the days...
In the last 90's I barely went anywhere without a flannel tied around my waist. Tank top/rock shirt, Jnco's, flannel, and Airwalks. Oh those were the days!
Airwalks!
But...what are Jnco's?
jnco's were the "skater" jeans. Small waist but REALLY wide legged jeans. I laughed because one of the ensemble members were wearing them last night I think, and it just brought back good memories!
Yay Em! Show is about to start!!! She is going to be so in love!
I remember Jnco's! My baby-sitter wore those all the time when I was little. I also remember wearing my baggy Aladdin t-shirt with tights and sneakers! I don't think they were Airwalks (though the name of those really ring a bell) but whatever they were they had velcro
I can't wait to see Emcee's review, she's going to have such an amazing time tonight; I'm really excited for her!
I hope Emcee's having the time of her life!
I remember leggings. They're coming back a bit now, luckily with some changes.
I hope Emcee's enjoying the show, too. Wow.
That was AMAZING!!!!
Ok, so I saw the show on monday night, and I must say that it was everything I had hopped it would be! The only disapointment of the day was loosing the lottery, although in hindsight we were just being greedy!
I am sure everyone has read reviews of the show so I will try not to bore you all to much. Let me just say that we went to see Lupone in Gypsy the night before and were amazed at the appluse she had recieved, well the reaction to Adam and Anothony walking on stage was just as big if not bigger than for her! I have never seen Rent in a theatre with so much enthusiasm, and those boys sounded just like the cd!
I originally wasnt sure what I thought about them going back to the show, but I will say that if they were going back this is the way that it had to be....PERFECT
--------------
The cutest thing that I havent read anywhere yet was in the beginning/middle of LVB. we were sitting right in front of the band and it seemed as though Adam wasnt sure when he was supposed to pick up the guitar. He got it once and was plugging it in and he was asking one of the guys in the band something, it seemed like he was asking if he was supposed to have it then. Then as it was going over his neck he looked over his shoulder at the stage and put the guitar back down for the line where he stands on the table with the bottle of wine, then he went back and got the guitar, confirming with the keyboard guy this time that he was right!!!!!!
frickin adorable
-------------------
other than that it was all PERFECT!!!!
As you all know the stage door was a disaster, I was trying to stay in the loop of it all till I got pushed and the detroit-er/fangirl in me felt the need to push back and make sure that if I wasnt getting my Playbill signed then niether was she......oops....Im sorry for that!
----------------
overall A+
I was on the opposite side as you, so missed the whole thing with the guitar. That's funny - it's like the only part of the show Adam didn't really rehearse was the guitar playing.
ETA: have you read the "Welcome Home Rapp & Pascal" thread on the main board? There are lots of reviews and reactions there, but I think it's on the second page at the moment.

Carpet samples...that made me spit my drink out...but you are so right...haha
no I try to stay away from the main board as much as possible! Actually I try to stay away from anywhere but here as much as possible.
I forgot to say that I am very disapointed on the theatre, the writing on the walls is horrible and they should of anticipated the riot that ensued outside, every other theatre has barricades these days!
Apparently there were barricades in place last night, but it was silly of them not to realize that it would be a mob scene on Monday.

It doesn't seem the barricades did all that much good with the crowd control, though. Obviously they should have had it there on Monday too, though. It's still too many overhyped people in one small area for a reasonable stage door experience.
I guess that's disappointing, but barely a blip on my excitement. I'm just afraid I'm going to try and see it 3 times and make my traveling companion hate my enthusiasm.
Go for it, Craww, [insert "you only live once" cliché of your choice here]. I have tickets for the end of next week, but I'm thinking of trying to go again before then.
i would have been there tonight, tomorrow, etc. if I wasn't trying to be a responsible adult. I do still have two more definite sets of tickets, so I really can't complain. However, if I didn't have my Vegas trip in the middle of all of this, I so would be there as much as possible.
I'm going back in two weeks, but I know once I get back to school I'll be tempted to go whenever I have free time, which is dangerous. I think I'm gonna buy a ticket for closing night. It's the day after my birthday, so I'll consider it a present to myself.
When are you going, Craww?
You can't complain about Vegas though right Tink?

are there alot of people going for the "closing" night??? I wonder if it will be as exciting as their opening night was?
No, brina. It's a good consolation prize, lol!
I looked it up and there are still some decent seats left for the final day. I really can't buy another set of tickets, yet. Hopefully once my friends see it next week, they will decide they want to go again, and so kindly buy me a ticket for closing as a girl. That way no one can be mad at me, can't say not to a gift!

When are you going, Craww?
I have tickets for the 8th. Probably at least once more, but I guess I'll see when I get there.

Their closing night September 9th, right? Adam-pascal.com says the 10th... I definitely want to be there, but it would help if I had the correct date before ordering a ticket, lol
Airwalks and jnco. wow. Before that it was the leggings and oversized tee shirt/sweatshirts.
