What's picky about it? I'd prefer Adam's bad haircut and Chris Columbus's directing to the entire existance of Bloody Mary.
I was totally kidding! I guess I should have put one of these up
Heh, I know. I'm just shocked that South Pacific is near universally-loved as a musical and Rent is the controversial one.
Agreed. I have no love for South Pacific.
I wonder how different the arrangements of Adam's songs would be with a more complete band. The scaled-down sound is a nice contrast to Civilian, but I think drums especially could be a nice addition to some of the numbers. If he is adding something from Aida, could be the version of Easy As Life that he once mentioned?
I love to hear something from Aida, but I'm leery to believe it with the article saying he'll also be playing the piano. Seems like almost too much new information.
I think moviemaking in general took a big hit in the fifties. What with the blacklist, the ugly makeup and fashions (well, to me), and competition from television, it wasn't a stellar period.
Ariella, I can't imagine what he would do aside from Easy As Life, unless it were a solo arrangement of Elaborate Lives.
I'm pretty sure I heard he does play, though. I wouldn't hesitate to believe it.
I haven't seen South Pacific, but I've now been advised to avoid it.
I actually didn't love the look of the Phantom movie. I felt that it was chintzy and bordering on tacky in some scenes where it could've been lush and romantic, and there are some seriously perplexing editing choices. I don't know.... all in all, I felt as thought it magnified the problems with the show, which I've always defended as it sort of gets a bad rap. It can be an incredibly moving musical in the hands of capable actors. Ugh, Gerard Butler.

Really? I've never heard that. Hmmm, interesting.

The date was listed on Larry's site, though. If Larry came along, I doubt Adam would be playing the piano, even if he knows how to play. I think the idea of a drummer is certainly a possibility, though.
And I completely agree about the Phantom movie, Ashley. Not my style at all.

Hi Lexi! Hope all is well!
I hope he doesn't switch too much up to fast. Maybe just the jokes (hint - no more "accidental" burping during Maria)
TINK!!!! Wow page 49 already?
hehe, Mom, wrong thread!
We'll take the "Wow" even if it's for the wrong thread.

Rach is waiting in line to (hopefully) meet him. She called me and said he did the exact same setlist, and it was only Larry and Adam on stage. I was really hoping that he'd change it up a bit for this show and the BB King's one, but I should have known not to expect it.
He apparently was told not to swear or say anything sexual before the show by the college activities people. That cracks me up.
hahaha, that must have been one boring show then! Thanks for the update!

Also, someone asked him at the post-show Q&A when his next album was going to be released, and he said "around Christmastime." I remember when he was giving the same answer early last year, but I'm assuming it's for real this time.
That article could not have been more off. Oh well. I wonder why the Penn State people are such prudes. Adam is a little raunchy sometimes but certainly not any worse than most TV these days, and the swearing is good-natured and pretty harmless too.

I was looking for a recap of tonight's show and found this on someone's LJ:
Dude I love Jess[C] sooo much she got me ANTHONY RAPPS AUTOGRAPH ZOMG.
and she found out the greatest news,.....he and Adam pascal are reprising their roles as MARK AND ROGER. ZOMG IM GOING. IM GOING.
http://zeldavitch.livejournal.com/191043.html
I really, really hope that isn't true. For as much as I'd love to see it, I don't think he should be taking huge steps backward in his career (and neither should Anthony).
Stranger things have happened, but I just can't see it happening!
Haha, I doubt Adam and especially Anthony would return to the show at this point. And I SERIOUSLY doubt the first person to hear of this news would be anyone that uses the word "ZOMG".

Well, supposedly Anthony told her friend and not her, but I find it so hard to believe. Not only have they done the Rent thing twice (well, three times, including London) already, but Adam doesn't even live in NY anymore. So weird.
He's more than welcome to come back to NYC and pick a new show to perform in. Just saying.
I'm sure she heard wrong. They would never.

That would be a shock, and I really don't think it's true. I know Adam said the only way he would be in the show again was if the entire cast came back, which I highly doubt. It's time for Rent to die down in their careers a bit. Bring on the new projects!
Also, it's hard to rely on such a statement with ZOMG in the same sentence.
btw- Congrats Brina! I would also love to read your speech, and I praise you for writing about Raul. It's hard to speak about such topics among high school students.
