re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

Well, I guess the show just started about half an hour ago, according to my watch. What else is everyone up too tonight? I've got to study for my big AP final on Friday; which frightens me to no end.

Good luck - that's no fun at all. I have history and math tests Friday, so my night is consumed with homework - not like that's anything out of the ordinary.

I guess we're left to speculate about the concert until everyone comes back with reports.

Wow, I'm super out of the Adam loop, which makes me sad. I miss this thread.

Anyway, is there any chance/any word that Adam will do another concert in NYC later this summer, when I'm there? That would make me a very happy camper.

Nothing's lined up yet, but his booking is in the process of planning a new tour. Perhaps he'll do something in New York around the Rent stint.

That's what I was hoping. I mean, he has to be there in advance to "rehearse", right? re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

Naturally - it only makes sense. No better way to get back on the scene than another warm reception from his most avid fans.

It would be incredibly stupid of him to not do at least one gig while he's here.

He could probably book any venue he wanted. I'd love to see him perform at Joe's Pub.

As long as it's while I'm in the city and it's not on a Friday night, I would be happy. I've only ever seen him live at Bryant Park.

Long time no see Em! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12 I finally made it home, lol!

Show was good. He is Adam, therefore I will always love what he does, but I dunno I left unimpressed. It could just be that this was the 3rd time I saw this routine. Had a lot of fun with the girls though! You can definitely tell he is training for rent because there was more growling in his voice than normal, which I personally love.

The other ladies will fill you in on the details, I'm horrible with that stuff.

lol, I loved when he told the girls up front not to finish his jokes for him, because he only had a very small "schtick" to begin with.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

man, I just got home. I thought it was a good show - I loved the arrangement of Glory that he did :o)

The fangirl situation at this show is going to be miniscule compared to the summer.

Where did you guys sit? I got there at around quarter to 8 and the guy found me a seat in the second "row" of tables from the stage. The other girls at my table got to go backstage and meet him because they knew someone - couldnt get the full story.

I saw Adam thru the little backstage curtain thing tho after the show.... then I saw the huge bouncer and was like "I'm not even going to try.."

Got home a little while ago, too. I feel the same way kind of, Tink. He sounded great, probably better than the last time I saw him, but after seeing the show so many times, there's only so many surprises.

He did play a new song, though, and called it "f*cking kiss ass song". And I loved the disco ball they had during Glory.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

yeah! I tried to get a picture of that but it didn't come out.

how the heck does Adam smoke and still sing like that? this sort of thing baffles me

misschung, you should have joined in with those girls and followed them backstage. I know you've been wanting to meet him. was this your first time seeing him in concert? t.he smoking thing is something I've wondered about too. actually it kinda worries me.i wish he'd just quit

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

Well I would have but they did know someone working there who was only allowing like, specifically 4 of them back. And the person was being very strict about it, even with the girl's mother, otherwise I would have. no big deal tho, I'm happy I got a good seat and finally saw him live.

I just have no idea how ppl who smoke can still sing like that- I guess a gift is a gift.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

Apparently he said something after one of the fall shows about how he smokes when he isn't home. I don't know if it's even possible to smoke regularly in one environment and quit as soon as you immediately enter the next, but I hope that answers your question.

I promised someone that I'd post about last night, so here goes:

Last night was great. His voice sounded well-rested and in great shape, and I'm sure the stellar BB King's sound system helped as well. He did the same setlist in a slightly different order as his other recent shows except for one new song. I asked what it was called ("that's a good question!") and he said that they haven't named it yet, but "Kickass Tune" seemed appropriate, adding that that should be the subtitle for all of his work. At any rate, it kind of reminded me of a Tori Amos song with the complicated piano work and seemingly unconnected phrases.

I posted about the post-show situation (or lack thereof) on the main board thread, but I have to add that I saw who I thought was his mother singing (or at least mouthing) along to the songs and looking so proud. Cute.

He still has the buzzcut with the natural hair color. Thankfully the gray hairs aren't as visible from a bit of a distance (or maybe he used Just for Men). re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12 He was wearing jeans and a long-sleeve black shirt with crosses and hearts on it. Some people shouted out some of his "schtick" before he actually said it, to which he replied that he has a very limited amount of schtick and not to ruin it. I can't tell if he was slightly legitimately annoyed at that moment, but I do think most of his sarcasm directed at the audience was in good humor.

Lastly, I'm really sorry to subject this thread to a rant about the audience every time I post about one of his shows, but I think we somehow were completely unlucky in who was sitting at the table directly against ours. One of the girls had taken permanent marker and fashioned a "tattoo" saying "Adam Pascal" in the same style as Adam's. I don't think the audience was bad as a whole, really. These girls talked throughout Larry's entire song and basically just couldn't resist being obnoxious all night in one way or another. There's that part of his schtick where, after mentioning that he wrote a song for his wife, he says something like "half of you are like 'aw, that's so cute!' and the other half are like 'aw, that bitch!'" One of the girls sitting by me stood up, pointed to herself, and identified herself as someone who's called her that. I highly doubt Adam took offense, but do you really want to act proud of that? As a sidenote, someone sitting behind me then said "I love Cybele" really enthusiastically, to which Adam replied "so do I!" (All of this was funnier in person.) Another funny moment was when he was talking about how he used to read a post from "Zenachick" at his shows before Book of Endings. He actually said something like, "And that bitch had the nerve to come on MY WEBSITE and trash everything about my show!" His website.

Feel free to ask any questions you have. I think he has the show pretty much down to routine by now (not in a bad way). I have a couple semi-good pictures that I'll post soon.

It amazes me, the things people are proud of. Heh!

I didn't know you owned BWW, Adam. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12 I love how the story has changed only to make the poster look even meaner. Hahah.

aw. I wonder how long it's been since he's been home. Also, do you think he will change the hair color to the lighter blond for Rent?
The whole Cybele bashing thing is just weird. I think his comment about "half of you are like...ew bitch" shows that he has sort of learned how to handle it, but still.

anyway, here are some pics.

It seems like he lets it roll off his back, but I'm sure it gets annoying, because it's really just stupid. He knows his fans, though!
