re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I know what you mean. I think their run is a big deal, but I don't know why I'm so insistent on being there for their last performance. I feel exactly the same way - I can't believe that like, they have been performing 8 times a week for the past month or however long it's been. So their leaving is going to be sort of surreal as well.

I know what you mean, though. I think it's the idea that... when you know something is ending, as time goes by, you kind of think that every passing day is one less chance you have to see it. And being there for the end is a very unique kind of closure, because it's that very last seal-the-deal opportunity.

It's lame but I feel like being there for the last performance is sort of just thanking them for doing it

Aw. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! Not lame!

Oy. Now my brother says he's not going. And I can't do anything with the tickets because they're in upstate New York. My mom says *I* have to call him and deal with it. I feel bad for him, and it sucks, but whenever he has drama with this girl, he torments everyone else over it. He's argumentative and impossible to deal with. I get that it sucks, but um, we didn't break up with him. It's just not good for him to sit around and feel sorry for himself, but that's all he wants to do.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I didn't think I would care about being there on the 9th, but about five minutes into the show on the 30th, I decided I HAD to be there. It's not necessarily a goodbye thing for me either, aside from the fact that I don't plan on going back to the show until it closes. The Return is one of those things that I hoped would happen from the time I first really got into Rent, but I wasn't exactly holding my breath waiting for it. I'm still surprised that it's going on, and we're on our fourth Monday now.

I don't really know if any of you are sports fans, but I think my boyfriend summed it up accurately when he compared The Return to what would happen if the Hartford Whalers ever came back to Connecticut. They were our only professional sports team, and about ten years ago, they relocated. There's been talk every year or so about their return, but nothing ever pans out. People have become so fanatical over the years that our local stores still sell Whalers merchandise. If they were to ever return to the state, it would be sheer pandemonium, and people would be caught totally off guard. My boyfriend also still can't believe that "the dude from SLC Punk" is in a musical.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I am the antithesis of a sports person, but I understand what he means and I think that's a great analogy. When I watched them on the 30th I just felt like....the pictures from my Rent book were coming to life, lol.

Emcee, that's so frustrating! Well, as long as it's not your money, I guess? If they don't mind losing it - but its such a waste

I just got a ticket for Wednesday - it's Orchestra Left where I've never sat before. But I'm excited to see the show from a different vantage point.

Em, were the tickets e-mailed through Ticketmaster or are they actual tickets? If so, he could e-mail the attachment to you so they wouldn't go to waste. Or maybe you can convince him to go.

Heh, SLC Punk. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! I woke up very early one morning last year to watch it on IFC. I sat there thinking, I woke up at 5 am for this?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I bought a ticket for their last night. I will be attending alone....mostly because I was able to get a better seat by only entering in for one ticket. The reason I really wanted to be there on their last night was that you just know that it is going to be one hell of a show.

Every day I think, maybe I could go run up to play lotto, it's only 16 blocks away. I could sneak away from work and be back before anyone really realizes I am gone : P I am actually really toying around with the idea today. Skipping my lunch to my play lotto. I don't know, I'm feeling kinda lucky... : )

Also, ventured out to LI this weekend, and saw a discount code advertised in Penn Station for LIRR riders. Figured I would throw it out there. Too bad I saw this after purchasing tickets for myself and a friend for this Friday.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My parents paid for them, so I feel bad about the idea of them going unused. We bought them at the box office, and my mom's holding on to them. I have to call him. If he's really going to be stubborn about it, I'll have to call TicketMaster and find out what our options are. There's some sort of way to deal with lost tickets, so I'd imagine they can deal with them being inaccessible, too.

I'm sure there's a way. Hopefully you can convince him to go so it's not a total waste of money and great tickets!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

sweetdisaster- The first time I watched it I HATED it! It's one of my boyfriend's favorite movies, and we watch it all the time now. It's definitely grown on me, probably due to the fact that I know people that remind me of every single one of the characters. We actually watched it last night, which is probably why I woke up wanting to go to Rent tonight.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Ya'll are bad influences with this ticket buying! I think that LIRR discount is the same as the Broadwaybox one, right? Thank God for discount codes! I probably wouldn't have been able to see the show otherwise. Now I'm thinking maybe I'll just buy a ticket for Thursday night instead of trying lotto. Hmm..

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

lol Emcee. Well, he's in a weird situation, so I guess you should cut him some slack. Maybe he will identify with Roger's ambivalence of not wanting to leave the loft re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Sweetdisaster, I just broke down and bought one because it was a question of time. I'd have to get there really early and then have nothing to do before the show, and if I lost I'd have to spend money on a ticket anyway. But I second the "thank god for discount codes" sentiment.

I'm attempting to frame some of my playbills. I was saving a spot for a signed Rent one, but it looks like that's pretty futile at this point, heh

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

When I talked to my friend that went on Friday, I asked her about the stage door, and she was like "Oh yeah, I just went right up through the people and got like 4 autographs." She's a little thing. I was impressed. I don't have the patience for that at all.

..ok, so the board ate half my post?

Well- I have this fear that the one night I do lotto, they won't have tickets left to sell after. It'd be my luck. Hopefully I'll be working in the area this fall, so I'll have a few more chances.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Oh, that's true...

I wrote to Anthony awhile ago and he never responded. And I really wanted him to read the long letter that I wrote, lol. Oh well. Do you think I can write and just ask for their signatures? Or should I address it to the cast?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I keep thinking that if it's raining later, maybe it won't be toooo crazy. And then I'm like, "shut up, who are you kidding?"

You should probably address it to either Adam or Anthony and then ask whoever to give it to the other as well.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I think I might give the stage door a try tonight. If it's bad, I'm small enough that I could hopefully wiggle my way out. I have time to kill before I catch the train anyway, and I'm curious to see how things go after Saturday night.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

That's a good idea. Maybe I will try that then - thanks for the tip re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Yeah, let us know how the stage door situation is. I'm sure a torrential downpour won't stop the fangirls, but many of them may be reliant on their parents for a ride. And usually parents are less tolerant about weather related things, so the crowd might thin out. It's worth a shot anyway

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Well the thing is, I wonder if most people in the audience are aware of how the stage door has been. You would only know about it if you read BWW, CB or Adam's myspace. Speaking of which, over on CB someone else has written about what happened Saturday -

I was there for this.

They had the barricades up and the police were there, but the crowds kept pushing in closer. Adam came out and signed for a little bit. Anthony had been there awhile already and hopped in his car to leave. When the car left, the gap in the road closed up with people pushing forward to get to Adam.

The police were yelling at people to get on the sidewalk. I was at the back of Anthony's car when it left and just stood in the gap and stared at the scene for a minute because the whole thing was surreal.

I tried to step up onto the curb. The police were being firm but gentle with the fans.

That girl came from the back and rushed up through the gap. She got all the way to Adam before any of the security people noticed. She seemed emotional, but not crazy screaming or anything.

A police officer came up and gently took her by the arm and steered her back through the gap and they disappeared into the crowd. Adam called after her and said he would get to everyone.

Then the security guys said something to Adam. They opened the theater door and he disappeared back inside.

The crowd sort of fell back because they said "No more autographs!" But then Adam's car drove up and everyone surged back toward the door.

That's when the police started yelling at people to get off the block and disperse. They pretty much chased everyone off. Most of the crowd dispersed. I was still there taking photos of people. (They see my camera and assume I know what I'm doing photography-wise. )

After helping with photos, I split too. Adam's car was down the block and he was still in the theater as far as I know at that point. It had to have been 11:30 by then.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

That sounds like it could have potentially been really dangerous. Maybe we should start your tee shirt idea, Chloe. So it sounds like Anthony had already left by the time this happened, right? Sometimes I laugh because, really, it's just Anthony and Adam. In the scheme of things, they're really not that famous.

Ok, I just looked at the clock and I reallly need to get out of bed and be productive. I'm leaving in 2 days and haven't even thought about packing my life back up.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

ok I guess this thread ate my last post. I wonder if that post from CB was about that girl who posted on Adam's myspace about "you said you'd get to everyone"

that picture is great. I love that shirt. And look - I do believe that it's our favorite body guard

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I swear, Adam is dropping years by the week. He looks so young in that picture.

I don't know, the poster from CB sounds a bit more objective than the myspace fan.
