And now I'm actually going to the beach. I'll get an Adam-worthy tan. :P

i always wear sunscreen too unless i'm just walking to the mailbox and back. my dad had a skin cancer scare years ago and he's fairly dark so i'm taking no chances. and like brina said, we won't end up looking like prunes.

i tried one of those lotions with tanning stuff in them but it felt all sticky. and i hate that feeling so i quit using it. is the jergens better?

polly, I like the jergens lotion the best because it's the most believable looking on my skin tone out of all those lotions, not to mention that they sell a separate lotion for use on your face. My dad also had a scare about 3 years ago and while it hasn't changed his habits, I won't leave my house without sunscreen.

All of this beach and sun talk is making me wish it was the weekend again! I just got back from three days at the beach, I'm ready to go back! To quickly catch myself up: Yay pictures!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I agree. The body lotion feels a little sticky at first, but that feeling goes away fast. I break out easily, and the face one they have gives me no problems which is REALLY nice.

So would I. I always win the 'Whose Casper's distant cousin?" game, not a fun scenario to be in :-X

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I'm actually pretty tan right now, which is surprising because I went tanning the 2 weeks leading up to my prom which was the first weekend in May. It was the first time I ever went "fake baking" and I'm still tan from it.

On an unrelated topic, I got my laptop today and I'm so excited! I don't have to share with my family anymore!!!!

Congratulations, Dancin!

I think I got a pretty good tan today. The beach I went to wasn't letting people in the water because there were bluefish, and they were biting.

Wow, I haven't seen Rent, the movie, in a long time. I think I watched it in March...

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

The thread seems to be full of pale people, myself included. At one time we discovered that a hefty number of us had phone phobia. I wonder if that's still true.

Adam has a new friend on his myspace, the guy who played the Emcee in the French version of Cabaret that Sam Mendes directed last year. I've noticed that other musicians occasionally leave comments for Adam, usually quite obviously to promote themselves. Still, it was interesting to see someone other than the usual fans. He did an excellent job in the clip he had up on his page.

Speaking of Cabaret, is the revival still on? I haven't heard anything about it for a while, except something about Alan Cumming possibly not doing it after all.

Also, I've gotten spoiled by all the reviews and stories about Rent lately, so I hope anyone who sees the show will continue to post about it, and not worry that everything has already been said. Not possible in this case.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

From what I could see, it was in much bigger theater and stage than the one here, but certainly looked good.

Ah, I missed a few posts - oddly I was thinking about the Rent movie today too.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I just put it on. I have a long night of unpacking ahead of me, and it's very quiet here, so the TV's keeping me company, more or less. It's been a while since I've watched this!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I haven't watched the movie for months now. Repeated viewings were making me more critical than I wanted to be, so I took a break from it. I should watch it before summer ends.

How did your move go, Em?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

It was looooong. Relatively uneventful, but very, very long.

It's weird -- I thought watching it would be sort of masochistic, but instead I'm just kind of remembering all of the joy of the whole time period surrounding the release. I think that's because it's been so long since the last time I watched it.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I think I might watch it sometime next week, when I'm back home. The movie sort of holds a special place with me, as it was my first exposure to Rent. the Broadway show, which I like more, also holds a special place...a different one, though, because they are different. I really enjoyed having my friends experiencing the Broadway show for the first time and watching their reactions, and comparing them to my own.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Adam and Anthony with my mom. My mom hardly ever gets excited about anything, but she's really thrilled about this. It'll be nice to share something with her when it's not something she's doing out of obligation.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

It holds a really special place with me too. As Emcee said, that year from the time it was first announced to when it opened was really, really exciting. I think a lot of us overpraised it then, but now it's become sort of common to undervalue it.

ETA: that's interesting, antiandrew. How did you find out about this?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

When I took my mom to see RENT she thought it was OK, but it was not her cup of tea (she'd rather see South Pacific re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!)

I think the thing that bothered her was it brought back alot of memories of my deceased uncle (her brother), who in many ways was like a combo of the characters Angel and Roger. He was a drag queen who lived in San Fransico, and had a few cabaret/rock acts out and about during the mid-80's (He was kind of like Hedwig only without the sex change). Unfortuantly he contacted HIV, and lived nearly 20 years with it until he died in '99. Apparently he saw the OBC of RENT and was in love with it; and when he would visit my family he would play the album for me (I don't remember this, but my mom brought it up while we were watching the film). It's kind of funny, now that I think about it; I was sort of RENT baby! That's probably one of the reasons why I'm so passionate about the show in general I guess. My friends think that the only reason why I like RENT is because of Adam and they call me 'Rent-head'. But truth betold everytime I see the show, or listen to the album; I feel a connection with my uncle that I never truly got to expierence. That's the power of this show; it really draws people in and you have this connection with the characters, which is really amazing to me.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

That's so sweet, brina. :)

I connect to the characters of Rent, especially Mark. Possibly Roger, a little, but mostly Mark.

My mom saw Rent once and thought it was okay. The second time around, she loved it. She's still deciding whether or not to see Rent with Adam and Anthony. Probably not, though.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I would probably connect most with Roger, or that's who my friends think I'm most like (I can't help it if I like being by myself; I'm an only child I get used to it! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!)

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

That's a very sad but sweet story, brina. It's a reminder of what Rent meant to many people when it first opened. It's nice your uncle left you such a memorable legacy.

It would be interesting to see Adam with a different Mimi, though I know Antonique is not beloved by several posters here.
