re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I selfishly hope that Tamyra's there on Thursday. I'm going with my cousin, who actually was the person I first saw the movie with. She's not really into theater, but I'm so excited for her to see it. I think I might be more excited to see it this time around rather than a few weeks ago, since it seems they've really settled in.

that's so funny. One of the friend's I saw the show with last week came over tonight and we were going to watch the movie (I wasn't kidding when I said the show that night was her first exposure ever to the show), but we got to talking and never turned it on. I still plan on watching it in a bit.

It may have it's problems, but I love to watch it still.

I've been thinking about the movie lately too. I really like the movie. Yes, it's got issues but it made me fall in love with the musical all over again. So it has a special place in my heart, hehe.

I absolutely love the moment when Adam hits that note in Glory on the rooftop, and the camera does that long shot.

The commentary is also priceless, and good for a few laughs.

i like the movie too. that's actually what got me back into theatre. i used to be a fan when i was younger and i kinda moved away from it. and then when i discovered Rent the movie, it turned me back to find Rent the musical which brought me back around to Broadway completely.

I always say I'm going to watch the film as a whole, but it's really difficult to get into. You have to be in the right mood and time to watch it you know? (The commentary's my favorite thing; I love it when the complain about their personal 'hair issues' of the moment re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!)

I really loved Glory in the movie the first time i saw it, especially the April flashbacks.

Now I think my favorite parts are the simple scenes, like when Mark leaves Roger and he's sitting alone in the dark playing Musetta's Waltz. There's a lot that can be said in those silences.

I loved when Adam said that Anna Deavere Smith's costume made her look like the queen from Coming to America, lol.

brina, I agree - you definitely need to be in the right mood to watch it. Plus I think that I ODed on it so much earlier this year that I needed a long break from it.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I was showing my sister some recent stage door photos earlier. She asked "why couldn't he look like that in the movie? He looks so much better now. He was UGLY in the movie! Laura has been telling me for years how hot Adam Pascal was, and then I see him and I'm like...ewww."

I was amused. Anyway. The movie got me into the whole thing, and I like it overall, but it's gonna be over a year before I'll be able to watch the whole thing again.

The commentary would be A+++ if they had replaced Chris Columbus with Jesse L. Martin, though. Anthony Rapp explained the technical aspects of making the movie better than Columbus did anyway, so he was totally an unnecessary irritant.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

My family took a portrait today and we were looking at the proofs online. My entire family agreed I was the palest; especially compared to my siblings. I don't MIND being pale; I'd prefer that to looking like Leatherface at the age of 35. I just wish I could be PRETTY pale, like Nicole Kidman with porcelain skin, instead of looking like I'm about to be sick in all my pictures.

I WAS going to be seeing Rent tomorrow night, so thanks for that alert, andrew. Change of plans...

Aside from a couple of shots, I don't think he looked ugly in the movie, but he does seem to be one of those people who look better in person than on film. I also think he looks better right now than he has since the early Aida days.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I'm also ridiculously pale. My freckles/tendency to flush pink prevent me from being the palest person I know. Certainly not quite on par with Rapp or anything.

I might have legitimately cried in frustration if I'd had to see Antonique Smith opposite Adam. Well, probably not, but I would have been sour.

Dude, Tamyra better be back Thursday, or I'm going to be pissed. I've been planning this specific trip since April when it was first announced. I feel like all that discussion about wishing Tamyra were out so Jaime could go on is coming to bite me in the ass. Of course, with my luck, Marcus will go on tomorrow too and that'll be hell deciding if it's worth it.

Lots of AP girls going within the next few days! Enjoy! Be sure to text or IM me if anything crazy happens, or if we have new wifebeater moments. I'll log on from Buzz's blackberry to see the pictures, lol.

He didn't look awful in the movie, it's just that the hair did not give him many flattering moments.

I liked Adam's hair in the movie, though it was different in every shot. Every time I watch the movie, I am struck by the fact that its really Adam. He looks so unlike his "normal" self. any way you slice it, its all adorable.
I was also surprised to read that many of you are fans because of the movie, it was the movie that I loved, that brought me to go see the tour, and Adam's concert and on to Broadway to see the show in September.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Well. It is pretty funny that I'm a movie convert, despite finding him mostly unattractive in the movie. Oh, Adam Pascal. Your siren call, it circumvents petty notions of physical attraction.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

That's pretty funny, Craww, and also somewhat true. He's not really my type, and when I first got a little interested in him and started looking at some pictures online, I often found myself thinking that he didn't look very good. Despite all that, I somehow eventually concluded that he is one of the most attractive guys I've ever seen.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I am with you guys on that one. I didn't dig him in the beginning, started to fall in love with his voices, and then it was like blinders were taken off or something, because he all of a sudden started to look pretty. He tempted me with the wifebeaters.

His voices, tink? How many does he have? hehe

I think I dreamed about Adam last night, but I have no idea what it was about. Something about him and Anthony discussing how much they hated people chasing them down the street for autographs. That's when you know you're spending too much time reading these stagedoor stories, lol.

I got attracted to his voice, more than anything. In the movie, I thought his looks were just ok.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I was smitten right away. I wasn't at a point in my life where I judged men on their looks too much, because I was still a kid, and one with a very young mentality, at that. But I loved his voice from day one; it never took any time to grow on me, or anything. It just struck something in me the very first time I heard him.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

A few weeks ago it was Patti on Sunday, Adam on Monday. I made myself sick that weekend, lol.

I saw the show when I was pretty young, so I wasn't really interested in guys yet. A few years later I just remember playing Glory - on my discman, how old school - and being hooked. But it was more with the show and not Adam. The movie made me have a crush on him.

I think all my friends loved Adam's voice the moment they heard it, as well. I don't know what they thought about his looks. I definitely like his look better now, though.
