Ha ha so I totally just "ran" by Feinstein's on my way to the park. And guess what I saw outside .. take a guess... drumroll. ack! I saw.... fangirls. Ok well I hate that word, I mean I saw a bunch of teen and twenty-something year old women. Clearly there for Adam. Shocking. I kind of wonder who and what I was expecting to see. At least I'll fit in the demographic-- sort of. They were wearing black pants and tops most of them..i haven't really worn black pants since college, but I guess there are people who still equate black pants with being dressy.
Two of the teens ha only what I can only describe as first communion dresses or jr prom dresses on.. Very interesting. I'm sure AP will love it. Way too "pretty' for me. I'm kind of relieved, though. I was really fearing the grandmas. Oh and the city is so dead by the way. Not many people outside the upper east side on a humid Sunday night during 4th of july week.

I know girly. But we just got back from the game. I mean I was in midtown by like 6:30pm but it downpoured twice during the game, so I don't think I smelled or looked decent enough for Feinsteins, lol.

It depends on the black pants and the top worn with them, I think.
I'm sure Adam Pascal could wear the nicest black slacks in the world and still be tackier than 75% of his audience, so.

It's all good, I'm not too disappointed. I am more upset I didn't get to catch up with the ladies. I am a Yankees fan that is marrying a Mets fan, so you can imagine how my day went lol;

Aww... now I feel mean. You guys have been so helpful, too. And it's so nice to meet other Adam fans. I'm not a pants fan in general- so it's probably my own issue. That and I hate my stomach. The Stacey and Clinton line made my day, though. I'm sure you look great in black pants. And I was happy that people were wearing them and leaned more toward the young and casual side. Believe me-- it was definitely better than seeing 40-somethings in electric blue dresses toting their husbands in tuxedos.
Speaking of which... I could never get my husband to one of these shows. He even sort of likes "Elphaba" and the "I hope you're happy" song, but I could not drag him to the town hall. It would take a miracle to get him to go see Adam. A freaking miracle.

Tink, we saw a game on TV at the bar and were like, "... that game can't still be going on, can it?" I hope you enjoyed the one you were at.
He sang mostly stuff from the new album, some of the usual covers, plus Pity the Child, I Don't Care Much and Rocketman. The drummer makes a huge difference on the stuff from the new album.

It was great, until he cracked at the end.
But he sounded more than fine for the rest of the night.

Yay- I was hoping he would sing something from Chess. Although I kind of wanted Florence and the American with him singing both parts. haha
What were other people wearing.. was my black pants assessment correct? Did Daphne appear to guest on that song? kidding.
You seem slightly underwhelmed.. is it worth going?
Oh and I guess Josh Groban wasn't the guest drummer.

I wouldn't really say underwhelmed. I wish he had done some of his older stuff, but at this point I think that's wishful. I had a good time, and I'm glad I went. Honestly, I Don't Care Much and Pity the Child really made the show for me. I've always wanted to hear PTC live, and I Don't Care Much is one I've hoped he'd bring back for a long time. (I'm also just really sleepy!)
I saw a few people in jeans, but most people were at least wearing dress pants or skirts. I wore a dress, but I was far from the only one.

re Defying Gravity: I still hold that they should duet.
Um... black pants, a button down and a tie?

Emcee- This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm curious.
How many times have you seen Adam live and how many times have you met him?
It would seem like quite a lot, but just wondering.

Swanky swanky, Adam Pascal. But. You missed your chance to do it up right in some black slacks (with accentuating off white pinstripes), covering (your fav band Panic's overly verbose cabaret classic) There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet.
I'd even risk getting hunted down by Larry Edoff and bitched off the premises just to see that.

Thank you so much for the review! I'm looking forward to a Monday night show. So by older stuff, I assume you mean solo stuff (civilian, etc.) Does he always sing something from Rent? I'm not going for that..but just curious. PTC will make the night as I have been addicted to Chess for a month now. And maybe we can request Defying Gravity. ha!
And so funny he was wearing black pants.

Yeah, he didn't do any of his older solo stuff.
As far as I know, he didn't always do OSG. I think (and others can correct me if I'm wrong on this) that he added Glory to his setlist a year or two ago and it's become one of the "staples" if you will. For me, it sort of loses effect the more I hear him perform it. But I'm sure there are those who are seeing him for the first time that appreciate the experience of hearing him sing it.
I think "Rocket Man" was one of the highlights of the show for me. I love that song.
