2026 Outer Critics Circle Awards
 Apr 21 2026, 06:04:43 PM

And yeah, I loved The Lost Boys, but it has an uphill climb in the big categories because it's a campy vampire musical. Not everyone has a lot of respect for horror, let alone a musical with Elviras and Draculas popping out of the closet or rainbow superheroes in spandex.

I think there is a strong assumption that N2N is coming and she will get her recognition then. many people feel this way and are willing this return. I think these awards reflect how people are really feeling right now.

1) Everyone is rooting for Sara Chase given her story and loved her in Gatsby and now Schmigadoon- she is beloved and people want a great story of perseverance and hard work.  She is broadway right now.

2) Same with Vosk- she is the only reas

I LOVE this list. Standouts for me are the Wild Party nominations… as it was just that good, Ethan Slater!, Carrie Coon, Sara Chase and of course, Jessica Voss for carrying the weight of an entire show on her back.

As a huge, very vocal fan of the Lost Boys I was also so excited to see those nods as those two keep me going back.

One miss for me that is not getting enough notice with the big 3 leads was Hannah Cruz in Chess as she makes Chess interesting a

I saw Chess in previews and was impressed by Tveit but knew in time adjustmentswould be made and he'd finesse this score to his strengths, and that was definitely the case when I made a return visit in February. Honestly, I was damn impressed—I've been hard on Tveit in the past—and wish that voiceon that nightwaswhat I was hearing on this new recording.

And I am shocked people are willingly listening to &

CHESS (2025 Broadway Revival) Reviews
 Apr 10 2026, 02:25:44 PM

I don’t think they would abandon their own show to attend another show’s opening especially when they are also investors in their own show… but that’s just me. Maybe if they had a personal connection to the show?

Sundays have always been my favorite day to attend.. they are often on fire!

Pink to Host the 2026 Tony Awards
 Apr 9 2026, 01:24:22 PM

Love this! Watch her segments on Kelly Clarkson- her daughter is a huge musical theater person and this is very much connected to Greatest Showman. There are still rumors of her hosting a NY-based talk show ha if she doesn’t take over the Spbere (whether Kelly or other) and I imagine she would have many Broadway segments. It seems to be a strong love for her family.

There is a clear connection here, not random at all if you are paying attention.

This is going to be a huge hit, full stop. We sat in the first few rows and we were probably among the collective people losing their minds that someone referenced. No shame. My only old person concern was that there was a lot of smoke in the first few rows and there should have been masks available or a warning when purchasing tickets. It’s a lot. (Showing my age.)

First - the talent and charisma and energy, youth etc. in the cast is undeniable and the effects/staging is beyond

I do have a soft spot for If/Then- but I know I’m not the only one. I have heard SO MANY requests for a revival on other sites. I would categorize it with 9 to 5 - shows I do believe are now nostalgic for many of us and will have a second chance someday. Also, how do you know the writers feel that way? I would start an If/Then appreciation thread if I had more time.

I have a soft spot for Boop! too… so sue me. I think they could have given it a few more months t

I didn’t have to get my purse checked the other day.. is this why? I was actually very worried because I was completely wearing a bag and no one looked at it.
Now I know I am a 40-something invisible woman and my purse was very nice… but you never know.

If/then isn’t considered a classic? Really? It’s not “Into the Woods,” but a lot of people think it’s beloved.

I also don’t think Boop was a bomb… I don’t think it was given long enough to run. I think it needed more time. It’s going to be spectacular on tour.

I also think Redwood had some great songs but a terrible book. They needed to make some changes and didn’t do it in time. I think it’s going to be seen as a classic some day like If/then and might get revived with edits.

Queen of Versailles was painful… there was no need.

Matthew Morrison appreciation !
 Apr 5 2026, 08:54:51 PM

THIS! My kiddo and I are huge Glee fans- Glee got me through so many difficult years - and my kid and I watched this last summer together - it was so amazing to see him live. Matthew was charming and funny and sounded great. It’s so refreshing to see someone who truly is cherishing every second of what they are doing and who is so grateful to make the most of an opportunity. I hope he tours or they bring him back or that we get one more shot to go.

We would go again an

We live in an expensive world where every dollar is precious. There was and technically still is a very easy solution right in front of them. They should have done everything in their power to add the songs or Bette midler songs. Someone should have just told the original author no- no one wants to see this without the songs.

This is what happens is when no one says no and   the muscle as someone said - is the problem.

Did we need a musical of Beaches, Smash, Tootsie, Pretty Woman, The Bodyguard, T

Alladin, Donica, Pinkins & More Complete ENCORES! THE WILD PARTY Cast

Went last night and echo sentiment about the performances. If you are at all on the fence.. Go. Tonya Pinkins was my standout by far and I went to see the others.

Also, I did bring my teen daughter who can usually handle mature content and she was definitely the youngest in the theater last night. She is a dancer and singer so the overall value of the production outweighed some of the more adult themes… for anyone on the fence with a teen or tween there was a lot of co

Just in Time - Matt Morrison?

I think he’s trying to reemerge with the recent SNL and Cameo response- she seems to have some fans in his corner. I’m all for it. I’ll leave my thoughts to myself on the other rumor..

Maybe we need to give someone else a turn.

Rumor: BEACHES opening at the Majestic this season
 Dec 27 2025, 08:29:26 PM

I’ve been meaning to come back to this for a while because I am genuinely excited for Beaches and I do believe that there are others like me out there. I want this show to succeed because it is a childhood love and the story has been a big part of my life. I was excited the first time I heard that this was in the works and I’m still excited. I want you all to know that I think there are a lot of women (and some men) like me- mid 40s -50s who have spending power
