I'm going to post every where I can on this topic to say that if we can cast anyone as Maria - we can start to remove the one allowed discriminatory practice in casting and remove height limits for kids for the casting of the CHILDREN.Let's cast the best singers and actors PERIOD based on TALENT, not height and appearance. I am so sick of seeing talented kids excluded from calls becuse of their height (and sometimes weight). Beaches, looking at you. Let's find the most talented Von Trapp kids...

Not during the matinee.

I went to the last day matinee and sat 2nd row mezz- lots of superfans who stood with me for nearly every ovation. Also lots of casuals who had never seen Chess before based on snippets of conversation. It felt a bit sad/somber- a show closing too soon with such a talented ensemble knowing many many will be out of jobs. I personally think the marketing was terrible for this one and hinged entirely too much on the three stars. It should have made it through September. Only a handful stagedoore...

This is great. Hoping Ragtime and BLR come up a bit. Totally agree with Josh Henry and Luke Evans. Totally 1 and 2 for me.

I honestly think the middle aged moms (and dads?) are going to be the biggest unexpected audience for this and they are going “Wild” for it. So anyone born 77-84 ish … Many have tweens who can’t go alone - so don’t discount this for that 10-14 age and then teens of course. I actually see “Wild” charting as some kind of mid-life female Anthem. Good, bring back the PR team- it’s a great show and I hope to be seeing it for a very long time. The problem is that people truly love the Beaches IP and had very high expectations for it. Vosk was going to kill it no matter what. The show itself falls down.

I also just think that people assume she will get it for N2N. So she might get nominated but not win. also both ladies of Beaches are not strong enough.. only Vosk will get it. I think there is a strong assumption that N2N is coming and she will get her recognition then. many people feel this way and are willing this return. I LOVE this list. Standouts for me are the Wild Party nominations… as it was just that good, Ethan Slater!, Carrie Coon, Sara Chase and of course, Jessica Voss for carrying the weight of an entire show on her back. I don’t think they would abandon their own show to attend another show’s opening especially when they are also investors in their own show… but that’s just me. Maybe if they had a personal connection to the show?Sundays have always been my favorite day to attend.. they are often on fire!

Love this! Watch her segments on Kelly Clarkson- her daughter is a huge musical theater person and this is very much connected to Greatest Showman. There are still rumors of her hosting a NY-based talk show ha if she doesn’t take over the Spbere (whether Kelly or other) and I imagine she would have many Broadway segments. It seems to be a strong love for her family. There is a clear connection here, not random at all if you are paying attention.

I do have a soft spot for If/Then- but I know I’m not the only one. I have heard SO MANY requests for a revival on other sites. I would categorize it with 9 to 5 - shows I do believe are now nostalgic for many of us and will have a second chance someday. Also, how do you know the writers feel that way?
