August on the Epic Calendar of Pascal? Adam Pascal and The Grobes. I jokerized Adam and, to be honest, it's really freaking me out. I mean, lol and all, but creepy.

Grobes got bat ears, because he's precious like these:

check out this article, the winner really deserved to win, but I watched all ten finalists videos and some were really touching. Adam, Anthony and Daphne were the judges. The really sweet thing was Adam donating his tickets to the second place winner.

I thought they picked a good winner, and that was nice of Adam to give that guy his ticket.

My favorite was that Diego guy who sang the whole show with his friend in 2 minutes. Brilliant!

There's also a farewell thing with Daphne that's going to air on Theater Talk on PBS. I want to check out all of this tributary stuff, but I don't think I can. Maybe after next week. It didn't really sink in for all those months, and now I'm, as embarrassing as it is, freaking out a little bit. I'm seeing the show for the last time tomorrow night. I hate that sentence.

I don't have Sirius either, maybe someone will record Adam Pascal - Star of Stage, Screen, and Tattoos ?

I can't believe the closing is so soon. I don't know if I have time to see it again, either.

Did anyone check out that website for the theaters showing the final performance? There's actually some near me, for a change..

It's going to be strange if I do see it in the vicinity of my house, just because Rent in general seems like...a NY city thing, and not a Putnam Valley thing, lol.

Wait...the best moments from both performances are going to be combined? That's pretty stupid. I know, I know, it's great that they're taping it to begin with - I understand. Still, it seems strange since they're advertising the theatrical release as "Rent's final performance," but whatever. I'm still grateful it's being taped at all.

That's what they've been saying, but honestly, it's probably more like they filmed the other one in case anything goes horribly wrong or is totally unusable on the 7th. I can't imagine much is going to top that, so how many of those "best moments" are they really expecting to find in just another regular performance? Unless the goal is to simply capture Rent the stage show on film, and not necessarily have it be the last Broadway performance... but that doesn't seem like the case. I'm not sure if I want to see it, honestly. If they're going to release it to DVD, I think I'll wait for the DVD. If they're not, though, I will go see it. I'm so happy Will's Roger and Eden's Maureen are going to be preserved.

Exactly. I have nothing against their wanting to preserve Rent on film, but if that's the case, don't bill it as the LAST PERFORMANCE. I know they could do a lot with editing, but it seems like if there are certain small idiosyncrasies in the last performance, they should just leave it in, you know? Not that there won't be other ways to see the final show if you're not actually attending..

I'm torn about seeing it in the theater just because I don't want to be surrounded by duds as I'm watching it. Then again, if I go with other people and make a night of it, it might be fun. I'm still undecided myself.

Also, lol to this:

I wasn't planning on seeing it when I was in town, but my friend and I decided we would try the lotto on our last night and ended up winning (thanks to the girls who came out and put their names in too). I'm really glad that I did see it, it was a great way to end my stay in New York.

Is there any other way to watch the conference call video, the internet knows I'm in Canada and refuses to let me watch it because it's only available in the US. Snobs :P

I'm thinking of doing the lottery some time this week, just to see the show one more time.

Has anyone seen Hamlet 2? If you have, is the theater that they show at the end the Nederlander?

I'm sad Rent is closing, although I'll probably feel it more once it is actually closed. I'm not going to be seeing it, because there's too much going on in the way of school and family. I'm not sure if I would want to if I could. It's just so...final. And the last time I saw Rent it was so good, and it makes for a good last memory.

I wonder if any theaters near me will show the filmed 'last performance'. I should check. I know the one nearest to me won't because it's a sucky theater, but one a little ways further might.

I am pleased to report the "last performance" will be showing at my local theater. I am so looking forward to seeing it, especially since who knows when we'll ever get to see this movie...
