Not that he hasn't had real ones -
I wish ihad been able to see him in Cabaret - he talked about it so much at the Duke concert, he really loved that role
Hi - tell us more about the Duke concert, like exactly what he said about Cabaret.
painted on abs - haha I noticed that but didn't want to say anything!
Chloe - thanks for that very nice reminder!
Adam was in very good shape for Cabaret too, but not as buff as that. Once he got a wife, kids and a house, I don't suppose he had the kind of time to spend in the gym he'd need to keep up that look. There's a Broadway.com video that goes backstage at Cabaret (before Adam's time), and we see the Emcee getting white body makeup put on. They probably needed to add back some definition over that.
His physical transformation for Cabaret was interesting. He had lost a LOT of weight, which I supposed worked for the character, but he was really, really skinny, and by virtue of that definitely in shape enough to look just the right amount of sexy for the role. He certainly wasn't as buff as that photo above, but that wouldn't have worked for the character. His arms looked great, though, and we know how much I love those!
Some of what you see in the Emcee photo is make-up, yes, but I'm I think some is also from the lighting. It looked totally different in person -- just as muscular, but more real than in the picture.
I've always liked that Adam is a bit thinner but the same time rather muscular, kind of like in this picture
Add's to his appeal!
Yes, that's very true. Onstage, his build looked somewhat different from that particular publicity photo (though I probably saw Cabaret some time after that picture was taken). He looked incredibly good.
I love the arms, too. It makes me wish he'd still show up everywhere in wifebeaters.

Heh, that picture hasn't been posted in a while. :)
I don't have the pic, but didn't his body look good in the "Hair" production?
I really like that pic, brina! The hair makes me giggle!

There it is! Thanks Chloe!
Hey Alex, I think that's the first time someone else has posted a screencap I made.
I guess this is beefcake night.
YAY ARMS.
The arms theme again! Bring it.
That pic from Hair is one of my favorites.

Chloe- Yea, I saved it from when you posted it on here before. I like it. :)
I went to the Duke concert the other night as well. Despite it seeming that the audience was mostly theatre majors, Adam mentioned the roles he played on Broadway while tuning for those who weren't familiar with his career. In regards to the other poster's comment about Cabaret, Adam just said that his role in Cabaret was most likely his dream role to play. The concert wasn't nearly sold out, due to poor promotion, but the crowd that was there was wonderful. I'm sure if word of the concert had reached the other surrounding universities that the house would have definitely been packed! Adam interacted a lot with the fans. Adam sung songs from both of his albums as well as a new song, I believe. Based upon reading reviews of his past shows, it seems like Adam has changed up most of his jokes, minus the one about the audience mostly including two kinds of people: females and gay men. Adam sung the song he wrote for Cybel, joking about how it got him laid. He then proceeded to explain that he didn't like make-up sex because he always tends to hold a grudge from an argument, making it mad sex instead of make-up sex. The post from IMDb pretty muchly sums up all the other conversation Adam made so I am not going to be redundant and repeat it. Adam was pretty partial to the F word during the concert, which I was surprised he used so loosely since there were a few kids in the audience. Adam of course sung Glory, which has to be one of the most beautiful arrangements ever. I was able to record him singing the whole song on video, and despite its semi-crappy quality, I am at least glad I have something to remember the concert from. A question and answer session followed the concert. For some reason I could have sworn one of the questions asked was why Adam changes his hair color so much, but for the life of me I cannot remember the answer-it kind of leaves me to believe I dreamed this question instead! A few questions dealt with asking Adam to sing songs. A girl asked him to sing a song from Aida, and Adam was unable to remember the lyrics so he had the girl come up on stage and sing "Enchanted Lives" with him. It was such a sweet moment! Adam was also asked what he did to prepare for some of his roles, such as Roger, and he replied that he wasn't a method actor so he really didn't do much to prepare. One audience member asked if Adam had read Anthony Rapp's memoir, and Adam said that he did not and didn't have a good reason besides the fact that he is just lazy. When asked about Rent 10, Adam said that most of the cast wasn't really excited to be doing it in the first place until they had started rehearsals for the show and actually got back into doing the show again. Someone asked about Goyband and he said that it is currently in editing and that the movie will be taken to festivals where they will try and get it picked up by a movie label to be released. As for his next album, Adam said it will be recorded this summer. After the question and answer session, Adam came outside for awhile and signed a few things for us fans out in the cold. It was definitely an awesome experience and if he ever does another concert in the area, I will be sure to check it out. I don't know how useful any of my review would be to you guys, but just thought I'd share!
Edit: Adam also asked during the concert if anyone reads the "Broadway Chatboards." No one answered, so he didn't elaborate, but he said his wife and mother constantly nag on him to stop reading them! It kind of made me wish that I had shouted out that I do read the boards, but I suppose you're just left wondering if you're too shy to speak up!

Aww, I'm disappointed that he definitely won't be recording the album until the summer, but it sounds like the show was really fun. Thanks for posting! I'd love to know his answer to the question about his hair color though, hah. I'm so jealous that you guys got to hear him sing Elaborate Lives. I've been wanting to see him do it again for such a long time -- I've been hoping that he writes a solo arrangement of it for that Broadway concert he's supposedly doing, or something.

Wow Adam, I'm glad you continue to thrill us with tales of your sex life!
But no, really, thanks for the recap, Allie. Your picture is really cute. :) (Edit: I guess you just removed it? Put it back!)

If someone had a "love" thread about me on a board, of course my ass would be reading it constantly! How could you not? I don't blame him! As long as he doesn't get a complex from it!
Yes, thanks a lot, MissAllie. You added a lot of information from the Q&A we hadn't heard before.
I think he already has gotten a little bit of a complex from it, Tink, but I agree with you. As a total internet addict, I'm not in a position to scold anyone else for being online either.
Sometimes, I want to tell him that I frequent them. But instead, I just sit there (often in his line of sight) with a very, very guilty look on my face.
