I guess it's obvious enough that I've done my fair share of cramming? Heh. I've taken tests where I skipped most of the covered lectures and started studying two hours before the test -- not to brilliant results, mind you, but it's a good (bad) way to figure out what sticks.

I've got an exam Wednesday on health. I don't really feel like studying for it, because it's mostly common sense. Pretty much if the kid is oozing or contagious, they shouldn't be in daycare. Also the section on allergies and asthma is pretty much my whole life, after avoiding it for 10 years, I had to get an EpiPen today because my allergies and asthma have gotten worse.
Does your book have a CD or online website? Those chapter quizzes and reviews always work for me when I'm studying last minute.
I don't know if any of you are members of the Adam group on facebook, but I randomly meandered on over there this afternoon. The girl who screamed "I want your baby" posted over there, and the conversation that ensued was scary. I'm hoping she's kidding.

If it's a psych test, definitely do a study sheet/flaschards.
I find I do best when I can make things into my own words. So I usually work with a partner who doesn't understand things as well and I explain it all to her. My teachers give out review sheets, so I stick to those. But if there are some recurring themes, make sure you understand those. If something was mentioned every week, that'll definitely be on the exam.

I checked it out too sweetdisaster; and that was rather inappropriate...let's hope she's joshing it.
But I do like the pictures that are posted on there though!
*I have a quick question for you Siamese; what is it like to take a Pyschology course? I'm hoping senior year I'll be able to take the class that is provided in my school; but I was curious if it is a type of class you recommend or not.
Brina - the majority of them were taken at Alices Down Under in Aug. 2000. I am not really sure of the last one, as I said I didnt take it, i think it was from one of the cutting room show though.
and I am not the person you asked but I prefer sociology to psych.
I'll cast my vote for psychology over sociology, but as a psych major, I'm just a bit biased. Introductory psych courses are usually pretty fun, I think... often a broad overview of the field and its different types (biological, social, developmental, etc.) and some of the major theories and studies in each area. I think that it's fascinating stuff, but it's hard to guarantee that everyone will find it interesting.

Brina, honestly, high school psych courses are pretty different from colege psych courses, at least from what I've observed so far. I think there's a much greater emphasis on what is probably considered "social" psych in high school psych courses, which I personally find a lot more interesting and frankly a lot easier. I'd suggest taking it.
I'm taking a I Love New York study break.
I preferred psychology courses. Ontario highschools didn't really offer them, so I didn't find out anything until University.
I love psychology. Cognitive neurobiology/biopsychology (it goes under a million names) is my first academic love, but I switched my major because with my complete non-propensity for statistics, going into the sciences was just impractical.
ETA -- as for Facebook, do they not realize that their first and last names are attached to their ridiculous commentary? And that it's public?
I took a psych elective... It was quite interesting and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, not having any plans to go into psychology.
The facebook girls - I doubt they mind.
My AP Psych class was the highlight of my high school academic classes. A lot of it had to do with the teacher, though.
I'm kind of excited to get working on my Psych requirement in the fall. I actually came into college thinking I was going to possibly major in psych, but I somehow never got around to taking a class.

I'm taking a psych class next year.
Lexi- there is this kid in my global class who looks just like Mr. Boston. And his mannerisms are alike as well. I keep begging him to say "I love New York." Heh.
I still have no idea what I want to major in, I like too many subjects! Well, I guess that's better than not being interested in anything. I'm leaning more towards art, fashion design or a writer (preferably for tv shows, things like that. I could never sit and write a book). My electives next year are going to confuse me even more.
eta: ugh, sorry for my poor writing. I am in such a daze right now.
That's why I adore my major -- it's perfect for the non-committal! I know what I want to do, so I didn't choose it because I can't commit (but rather for other reasons), but a lot of people do.

What is your major, Em? (I know you've said it before, but I can't keep track.)
We call it American Studies, which is basically a liberal arts or humanities degree.
Sent.
I took mostly behavioural psychology courses, I got confused with all the brainy psych classes (as you can tell, I'm not even sure what to call it, therefore I did not do well in it). But the behavioural ones have helped me out with my current program, knowing all the behaviourist theories beforehand helped me get a really great mark.
Wow, thanks for all the helpful input everyone!
I always laugh when my friends have no idea what there going to do; and I already am listing off majors I want. Silly indeed~
Zut allor...I have a math test in less than two hours...this is not good.

Well, choosing what you would like to do for your career is a difficult choice. I have a few main interests, but I have no idea what I will major in. You change your mind constantly. I will probably wind up changing my major once i'm in college, because of my involvement with different courses and maybe I'll even discover a new interest. You just never know.
How old are you brina?
It took me three years at university to realize I was in the wrong major and heading towards the wrong degree. Now I'm very happy with where I am, but I definitely was not thinking of this when I was 17.

And I knew I wanted to journalist since I was in middle school, and then ended up absolutely hating it at university... and now I'm at home with no idea what the hell I want to do!
To The Stage!: 15 going on 16 (in less than two weeks) So again, I still have time to find my "purpose" you know?

Brina, you are in the same boat as me. :)
I am looking at SparkCollege right now.
