It's wonderful that a handful of people (actually, probably the majority) could go back and forth with me without making personal attacks. What I don't understand are the people accusing me of looking to dislike it because I have a Grey Gardens avatar - I just saw Grey Gardens two days ago and while I enjoyed it very much, it's far from anything I'd ever put on my "favorite shows" list. I sense a bit of animosity toward Grey Gardens on the part of the Spring Awakening fans.
Barring anything new popping up, this poor thread is going to be so boring until they record the album in August or we turn to the subject of Raul and Adam. *pets thread*
Er...is that my cue to post?
Just kidding. Anyway, I ought to go either nap or be productive, so have a nice evening, everyone!

Maybe. You don't even really need to say anything; your avatar does the job.
Yeah, I figured. Aww. Look at them! They're so smiley and happy and doing Chess!
They're pleading for it to revive on Broadway. Starring them, of course.
It does appear that the Grey Gardens av is a red flag to some people, Lexi. I've seen the Rent/Spring Awakening connection made before, but SA hasn't created anything like the kind of media frenzy that Rent did. Very few shows do, of course.
I'm wondering what kind of impact Billy Elliot will have when it gets here. It's a huge hit in London, but doesn't get talked about much on the British musical theater boards. I suspect that has something to do with the fact that the lead is a prepubescent boy, and the only people who can fangirl about him without feeling slightly pervy are prepubescent girls. So much of musical theater fandom revolves around individual performers.
Honestly, I just feel like for a lot of people, when they try to make points... it's just easier for them to make some sort of excuse about why your points are invalid as opposed to supporting their own.
Emcee - You just described US politics in one sentence! =)

Aw, sorry Lexi that you didn't enjoy Spring Awakening. I actually really wanna see it, but I guess it isn't your cup of tea.
I was/am disappointed of the video they showed for the 30 Days of Rent series.

Yeah. The second 30 Days of Rent video is a bit underwhelming. But, speaking of retro!Rent stuff?
Now, what do you think. Either that shirt is his, or he begged to take it with him after the photoshoot was done. (If so? They said no, but Daphne stole it for him, and snuck it out under her shirt like a lumpy pregnant belly. Everyone noticed, but was too afraid of her to say anything.)

I have that magazine and was planning to ask Adam and Daphne to sign it, but I'd honestly feel uncomfortable shoving that picture in their face.
So many things I want to know about that photoshoot, though. Who picked out the shirt? Who picked out the pants? Why is he wearing a pseudo-wedding ring? Did they proceed to do it after the photoshoot was over? See, this is why I don't ask anyone to sign it, because all of the above might spill out of my mouth.

Sadly, after questioning the shirt (and sobriety), the first question I thought of was "...but why so many Rent photoshoots on dilapidated couches?"
The fact that you may blurt all those things out is exactly why you should ask them to sign it. You should sacrifice your dignity to have good stories to tell on the internet.

Because dilapidated couches totally capture the spirit of Rent and East Village life. Kind of the opposite of fan fiction involving necrophilia.

I think I've already done that with so many performers, so many times. I guess one more time wouldn't hurt.
I sacrifice my dignity and then post about it on the internet, rather than doing so for the express purpose of.
My first thought about that picture was 'what's up with the white pants?' I'd actually never seen that before.
If you ever did that, Lexi, I'd love to be there to witness their reactions or at least see a video of it! That'd be the epitome of word vomit. (Forgive me. I'm half watching Mean Girls.)
I hadn't either until I saw Lexi's copy. I kind of doubt that it's been on the internet before. (The subtext of which is god knows I've looked at every picture there is to be found.)

I'd never seen the full picture online. I saw a thumbnail from an old Ebay auction (that was won by someone with a familiar username) on google, found out which issue it was (May 1996, naturally), and found another copy on Ebay.
I have no clue why I'm so devoted to obtaining and scanning old Rent photoshoots, but it's becoming obessive compulsive.

Would it help my case if I chose this time to disclose that Regina was the one who found said closed Ebay auction and linked me to it and helped me locate another issue and then told me to buy it?
Probably not.

Maybe a bit, but only to the detriment of the "Regina finds Adam Pascal disgusting" illusion.
I hope she's reading this.
Were I allowed to post here, I would say that I find the implication that I would spend my time reading the Adam Pascal Love Thread terribly offensive.

You're not Anthony Rapp. There was no BWW moratorium for you. Just a stern suggestion.

This is absolutely hilarious.
yummy picture - snakeskin looking shirt and all. When I first started getting into Adam, I would shake my head and really ponder his clothing choices....now nothing shocks me, it's kinda expected. Is that bad? Have I developed an odd clothes tolerance?
I would say an odd clothes tolerance is kind of a necessity for an Adam Pascal fan. I had the advantage of already having one going in. While other posters would be complaining about some strange new shirt, I'd be saying to myself, "that doesn't look so bad to me."
Hi, Regina.
