That background was a little distracting. I had to lean forward and squint before I could read it.

It made me go almost as cross-eyed as my history homework reading.

*RANDOM*

I just called my mom to ask her a question and I heard some singing in the background (she's in the car). Anyway, I thought to myself that it sounded familiar. So while she was hanging up I listened to see if I could hear what she was listening to. I thought it was "Fortune Favors The Brave", but I wondered why my mom would be listening to Aida. I looked in my CD case upstairs and Aida is missing. I called her back and asked her if she was listening to that and she says, "Oh yeah, I love this CD."

Welcome NGA! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eleven

That background was annoying. The person could've changed the font color to make it easier to read.

Hey everyone!

I saw you were discussing Aida and wanted to ask if it was official about AP adding "Easy as Life" to his concert list? I would love to see (well, hear) what he does to "passion would've cooled, and all the magic would've died". I love that line.

Thanks.

And I'm so late on this but I wanted to comment a bit about orangeskittle's post.

Quote orangeskittles:

"I get chills when I see Another Day onstage but the movie just didn't do it for me. I wish it had."

It would've have been more intense it been more of a face off like at the beginning? I liked the Romeo/Juliet thing but they sound so angry/upset yet they're not expressing it well enough. I mean, Roger can only push himself all over the balcony so much. There's a moment where it looks like he's about to throw himself over!

Well, Adam himself did say that he was planning to play it on his spring tour, if that's what you mean by "official." He didn't play it then or at the LA concerts, so I don't know if he's ever actually planning to play it. Like you, I'd really like to see what he does with the song.

Aw, nga, don't worry about that. I actually think we have quite a range of ages represented in this thread. I COMPLETELY agree with you about Adam's management, though. For one, they need an official, informative, and up-to-date website. His shows seem to be selling reasonably well in spite of his management, though. I think a lot of it depends on the venue's promotional choices as well; for example, the Bay Shore show is almost sold out despite its high ticket prices, while the Queens show still has quite a few seats available.

Maybe Bayshore is closer to more Adam fans than Queens.

I totally agree w/ what you guys said about Adam's management. I thought Off Broadway Booking was doing eveything. But I guess not.

Well, unfortunately, the man isn't at a point in his life where he can afford lax PR. Um, he's pushing forty. Sort of.

I hope, at the very least, that they publicized tonight's show in the area where the school is.

I think the Bay Shore/Queens issue is that the Queens show is sort of way the hell out in the middle of an outer borough; nobody wants their kids going there alone, whereas Bay Shore is on Long Island -- I bet a lot of kids will be able to drag their parents to that one, or get rides, etc.

Hi nga8, it's nice to have another older person here. You're not alone, believe me.

It's a bit confusing, but I believe that OBB is booking this tour, but Adam's myspace is run by Sh-K-Boom. They seem to be having some communications problems.

I think his PR sort of falls into limbo when he's not working on Broadway. When AIDA was running, they publicized Civilian like crazy at the Palace, and it seemed to work. But now, other than the internet, there's not much at their disposal.

That doesn't make too much sense, though. Why would Adam have a disproportionate amount of fans on Long Island compared to Queens?

(ETA: Emcee, your point about the location seems about right.)

I think Off-Broadway Booking isn't really responsible for promoting ticket sales at each individual venue; I'm under the impression that it's their job to book Adam at venues where they feel he will be successful and nothing more. Sh-K-Boom maintains Adam's MySpace page as a promotional tool, but the information on that website tends to be vague or often incorrect. Sh-K-Boom's website itself leaves a lot to be desired, too. I just think it would help SO MUCH if someone who worked in conjunction with OBB AND Sh-K-Boom maintained a website with detailed information on his concerts and his upcoming CD. It would be nice to know how the new CD is coming other than knowing that they've written at least three songs.

I also don't think anyone's put in the effort to sit around and map the geography of his fans. I think it goes without saying that the largest concentration of his fans is probably in the New York area, but both are encompassed in that term. I think Bay Shore is just more accessible by the typical member of Adam's fanbase.

OBB books a TON of stuff. It's up to the PR backing and the venues, as well as other outlets to do PR. OBB is very, very behind-the-scenes.

I've been of the belief for a few years that his stuff needs to be condensed, though -- starting out with the fact that he needs a TRUE official website that focuses on his acting career just as much as his solo music career.

Yeah, that's a huge part of it, She. If you get *good* actors as Roger and Mimi in that scene, they're just so passionate and confrontational about it, which is what the scene *should* be about. Him chasing her down the stairs, only to run back up and yell at her from the balcony? Mimi doesn't leave in the show until the end of the scene, because she's not going to back down and let him chase her away. What's the point of her running away from him only start arguing again 4 stories below? It's a weak follow-up in comparison.

I also love the Life Support meeting joining into the "No day but today" chorus with Mimi. The sound of all of them against Roger is just so much stronger and richer than just the 4 they have in the movie.

Well, there probably isn't much to report in the way of his acting career right now. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eleven I do obviously agree that a true and INFORMATIVE official website is needed, though. Sh-K-Boom's website strikes me as very quickly made and rarely updated. Provided that the webmaster is able to receive information both from OBB and Sh-K-Boom quickly, it really wouldn't even be too much of a chore to put the website together. Even if Adam is somewhat technologically inept, you'd think he'd care a bit more about the lack of an actual website.

Well, I think expecting Adam to come in and do it himself is opening a can of worms. By doing that, he opens up a lot to become really messy. And I think he's past the point of needing to be quite THAT grassroots.

Also, whether he's actually able to use a computer is up for debate. I think expecting him to do his own promotion is unrealistic, but I also think that it wouldn't hurt for him to talk to his record label about the lack of an informative and official website. For a label that started as a self-proclaimed "internet label," their website is truly pathetic.

Yeah, very true. It would just be nice to have something reliable and organized. As one who can barely get their laptop to connect to the school server, I fully sympathize with Adam not wanting to deal with the tech aspect. If only he could get good representation...

There may be some good people doing good work for Adam, but it's just not coordinated enough. The only bright side to all this is that if there actually were an up-to-date, well-run official website we wouldn't have the fun of trying to figure this all out.

By the way, She, I meant to say earlier that it's nice to see you again, and I agree with what you wrote about AD.

orangeskittles - exactly! It was potentially an amazing confrontation. Mimi could def. stand up to Roger and the movie didn't show that a whole lot. But ah well. Potential, potential. Still Rosario/Adam scenes are really good. But I'm biased. Haha. I wanted Rosario to be stronger.

Chloe - hi! Nice to see you too. I read up every once in a while to see if anything's happening in the AP 'verse and you guys are great to read so. Yup.

The regulars here should be his PR team. lol Seriously.

Absolutely, Emcee.

I would have liked both Mimi and Roger to have been a little tougher. Maybe there was too much concern about them being "likeable."

I completely agree that both characters should have had more of an edge to them. I'm not sure if blame lies with the actors or the script - maybe a little of both.

Hm, I haven't listened to Adam's new songs in a long time. *listens*

Emcee - hey, you'd deserve it! Fruit basket and all!

Good point. I would think newer fans (like me) would expect this people to be very passionate but maybe they didn't. Before the movie I read some of the online libretto (is that what you call it?) and I thought everyone was so vibrant and "wow". Even Roger with his anger was captivating.
