Rachael, good to see you! There have been a lot of familiar faces... well, icons... showing up lately.
Connie, I'm not sure, but I assume it's not officially sanctioned.
I miss this thread.
It misses you too, Mandi! *hugs*
Chloe - I think fan videos are okay though, only if the actual event allowed cameras in. And...EMAIL (for you)! :)
Hi, Ash!
Mandi! *clings*
I'll try to stop in this thread more often, but right now, I have to go get ready for work. Woo, night shift? :-P
Hey Mandi, how are you?
Night shifts must be tough - good luck with it.
Here's a "lovely" pic from the JRB concert.

Thanks, bdwaygirl, that's hysterical. What the hell was going on?
He had come back on stage for the finale, I believe? Not sure. It was a very tiny stage, with the piano taking up most of it. There wasn't much room up there with all the mics, wiring, etc. As he came up, he tripped over a mic stand. I'm sure he was a little embarrassed, and that was his version of making a joke that he must've been drinking too much. That's Sherie's hand in the pic.

It seems as though Adam's making the universal hand motions of drinking too much. :)
I think he tripped over something at one of the shows I saw too. It's rather perplexing how someone with such killer stage presence can be such a doofus.
Connie, at his Knitting Factory show he broke a guitar string and started gesturing wildly. He said it was the universal hand motion for "help!"
Oh man, that's a great picture.
Thanks, XM.
His doofusness (is that a word?) makes him all the more lovable!
Chloe, I just saw that Elton is on Leno Monday night and Ellen Degeneres on Tuesday. Didn't know if you read that anywhere.
Off to dreamland for me. Have a nice night!

Chloe - And that is why I NEED to see him in concert, if not for the music, just to see his klutziness. *g*
But I have got to have anyone beat in terms of klutziness, seeing as how I inadvertantly smash some part of my legs or my arms on a table or desk every day. :P

That picture is amazing.
I LOVE that picture!!!! Anyway, I'm just popping in and then popping back out because I've been at dance all night and I still have to write a paper that's due tomorrow. Yeah, go me the procrastinator. Way to put it off til the last minute right?
Thanks for the heads up. Elton is releasing a new album, a follow-up to Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, which was the first album to enter the charts at #1 in the US. Record stores moved the rest of their inventory into the back and displayed only Captain Fantastic. It's hard to imagine nowadays. I just read that in 1975, 1 out of every 50 albums sold in the world was by Elton.
Anyway, this new one is called The Captain and the Kid and is about his songwriting partnership with Bernie Taupin over the last nearly forty years.
ETA: good luck with your paper, dancing! And Mel, it's good to see you!

Here's something new and different. AP Online reports that before his January concert at Western Illinoi University, Adam will be conducting a master class for musical theater students at the school.
WHAT!?!?! I know someone who is in the musical theatre program at Western Illinois!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<--Is super jealous!!!!!
I'm delayed, but it's good to *see* you too Chloe!
Hey again Mel!
Wow, really Dancin? I don't suppose there's any way you could "audit" the class that day, is there? I hope your friend likes writing long, detailed reports on his/her classes.
Well, it's not like I'm best friends with her. But she was good friends with my brother and I was in a few musicals with her. I'll see if she'll give us a report
It would be great if she could - I'm really curious as to what Adam might do in this kind of situation.
That's so cool! He is a brave a soul, though. An audience/course full of college kids can be frightening in any situation...but also loads of fun. *nods*
