Ugh. I'm in the college application process too. It's making me crazy! I have too many forms to fill out, too many papers to write. And all this stress is amounting to me getting sick. I feel like crap right now and I'm considering having my mom call the school and tell them I won't be back after lunch.
I ended up with an ulcer from the stress of applying to college. I wouldn't recommend it...
I had a long/stressful appointment today, so I'm using that as an excuse to skip my afternoon class. And I want to catch up on some reading.
I don't envy any of you guys for having to go through the stress of applying, and writing essays, and taking the SATs. I'm glad that in the good ole' Great White North, all that is needed is good grades and a good provincial mark (kind of the equivalent to SATs in the States, but less standardized and more of just ONE LAST BIG TEST at the end of the year).
I don't believe I had to write any essays on any of my applications, thank goodness because I suck at pimping myself.
Wait, that sounded bad...
As for the little-bit of IMDB board drama that I ranted about last night, I apologize profusely to anyone I may have offended here or there. As Lorelai Gilmore once stated:
"I hate when I’m an idiot and I don’t even know it. I like to be aware of my idiocy - to really revel in it, take pictures. I feel we missed a prime Christmas card opportunity."
I feel like that right now. :P I've realized my stupidity and now I'm going to correct it. :)
And now back to your regularly scheduled programming... :)

I suck, double post. :P

Hah, I'm not actually *going* to Canada. Though, that would be nice. I'm just saying it's sounds a lot better than colleges here...

A guy I knew in high school went to McGill. Then a friend of mine went somewhere in British Columbia, but I lost contact with her years ago.
In case not everyone reads the Rent LJ, someone made really high-quality scans of the pictures from the Rent book and posted them. They're really amazing, whatever your intent with them is. Let's just say I now have my desktop wallpaper planned out for the next few months and a lovely new poster for the blank spot on my wall.
Rent book scans
Mandi - Heh. Come to Canada. It's fun, and we say "Eh!" a lot.
Skittles - I'm not sure why, but I have this notion of it being weird when Americans come to Canada for school, even though it also happens the other way around. I guess it's logical, since fees are ridiculously low here in comparison to almost any university or college in the States.

College is the easier one Mandi. And you know you want to come out and live with me.
Duh. I should have figured that out, Mandi. Thanks for the link, skittles. Those are great scans.
Connie, drama over, hopefully.
Thank you for the link to the scans skittle. They're amazing!
Chloe - I wish. There's one poster that seems to want to berate me repeatedly even though I apologized time and again, as you can see. Plus, now she's saying I'm a hypocrit for posting pictures without credit, but as you know, I do credit people (seeing as how I keep on asking you where you got said pictures *g*), and that I shouldn't have any of them up even with a disclaimer (even though, as you know, most fansites work on this policy). She wants to make me out as the bad guy and I really can't stop her from doing so, so I'm going to stop trying.
I learned more about the English language (sentence structure, parts of speech, etc.) from Latin than I ever did from English classes. So yeah, really useful in that sense and also for word etymologies. Your high school sounds crazy, Jessica!
Why on earth would you hack up your Rent Bible like that?
sweetestsiren - Seriously. I'm learning more about English now that I'm taking Russian. Who knew that English had all these components. *g*
Mine's sacred, seriously. I nearly had a heart attack when my friend touched it with ink all over his hands.
I'm sorry about all the IMDb stuff, Connie. I've met some great people there who I love talking to, and others certainly less so. Aforementioned poster would probably be at a complete loss for Adam info without your site.
I don't mind that she did it, considering I can benefit from it. Okay, when I first saw that, I kind of had a heart attack too, especially considering the hell I went through to replace mine last year. But it's not like she cut up MY book.

But, Connie, properly crediting images includes providing a name of a photo agency and/or photographer for every single photo. It's true that most fansites don't practice this policy, and I personally couldn't care less if you or anyone else give credit on every individual photo, but I don't see that you've done that on your website.
I love the scans. A lot.
I still have to buy the Rent bible.
Considering how crappy my day has been, those scans just made it so much better.

Thanks for the link, skittles! Maybe I'll borrow a page from your book (figuratively speaking) and use some images as a poster. For a while, I've thought it might be fun to have a Rent poster to go with my La Boheme print.
I don't have the book either, Sarah; you're not the only one.
Darn, I wish I'd been around for the discussion of ancient Greek and Roman epics. I'm comfortable enough with my geekiness to admit that I love The Odyssey; I first read it for an extra-credit project in middle school. However, most of my interest in epics comes from my general obsession with mythology and folklore.
Although Euclid and Pythagoras doubtless made great contributions to math, I kind of wish they'd decided to keep their mouths shut now that I have to prove all of their theorems - which are in archaic language that I can barely understand. Sorry, end of rant. I hate homework.
I'm starting to dive into the application process for high school, even though in 9th grade. My school's weird like that, ending in 9th grade instead of 8th or 12th. This is gonna be a crazy fall.
I would die if anything happenedto my Rent book. It's totally sacred to me. I freak out when people touch if when tehir hands are dirty, etc.
Thanks for the scans skittles! They're amazing.
My school is into early apps, too. The teachers related everything to college, even in 9th grade. According to them, a single missed homework assignment or failed attendence to a school group means you won't get into a good college. It's ridiculous.
I'm so protective of my Bible. I practically gave my grandpa (the pastor one) a hernia when I kept talking about my bible -and he realized it wasn't in fact THE bible.

Well damn, I guess I should go pick up an application from Burger King.
