The weather has totally thrown off my day. It was raining when I woke up, so I decided not to get up and go somewhere like I had planned. Then when I actually got up, it was still misting, so I wasn't motivated to shower before I went out to do errands. Now, I'm just stalling on unpacking.

Ugh, I'm not even halfway done unpacking. I brought so much crap back from my house. The fact that I'm reorganizing and cleaning as I unpack is not speeding up the process.

I desperately need to reorganize my junk, not to mention get rid of half of it. I think I'll need someone to put a gun to my head to get started though. Well, I did do my medicine cabinet, but two square feet isn't much to have organized.

It was around a year ago that the cast was on Today the first time, wasn't it? That was so exciting.

Oh right, I did see that and should have remembered. Not really my kind of show, though.

It was the same day as Bryant Park, Emcee. Didn't you get up at dawn and go to the Today Show? It was one of the most godawful hot days of the year and I stayed home in the AC.

I did. It was so brutally hot by like... 9 a.m. or something. I thought it was earlier in the month, though?

The Today Show was the first or second week of August. I remember because I was at the beach and tried to tape it, but the VCR sucked and recorded it without sound.

I've made progress on unpacking. I hung a hook to hang my keys on. And found the plastic silverware so I could eat my salad.

I'm listening to the full Annie OBCR for the first time in a long time. I had a few songs on my computer/iPod, but I uploaded the full CD right before I came back. I feel like I'm 4 again whenever I hear the overture.

I was pretty sure that it was earlier in the month. I remember that I wasn't in school yet and at this time last year I'm pretty sure I was. I'm pretty sure that it was much earlier

Yeah, I just remembered it was sometime in August, but I looked it up and it was the 4th. it was so startling to see Adam with that really, really short hair. I don't think it's ever been that short before or since. He looked great though.

I'm pretty sure we had the worst move-in day weather possible, but it all somehow turned out fine. Our room has four walk-in closets, and the view is really nice. I was expecting to face a wall considering the size of this room.

I was totally geared up to spend a night out, but now I'm so tired that I just want to lounge around and watch Evita.

It's unfortunate that I'm not very diligent at keeping links for them, but in looking for the source of that last picture, I found this photobucket album. I'm almost sure it was made by a poster here whose SN is Marlene. There are some great pictures of the first Today Show appearance, including the one of Idina holding a poster that has reappeared in so many different guises.

Sorry if you already have these, I didn't check.

Right, I know that particular picture isn't Marlene's, but hers have some similarities.

I was up at seven, but it nearly killed me. This weather is very strange and very enervating.

All these welcome week activities are either lame ("learn how to connect your computer to the internet!") or apparently sponsored by a particular group, most of which don't interest me. I think it's time to start aimlessly walking around the city.

Bleh. I wish we had that activity. Maybe they can explain why my internet keeps disconnecting every 10 minutes.

I have to get a tetanus shot today. I cut open my foot the night before I left and it occured to me that I didn't know when my last shot was. I called the doctor and I had it 9 years ago. They're good for 7 years. I really really don't want to, but I'm slightly more terrified at the prospect of lockjaw (I already have TMJ problems).

Definitely get the shot even though your risk is probably very slight. Don't know what's up with you internet connection, but my DSL always seems to go out at the first sign of a storm. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Skittles, I totally sympathize. My tetanus shot is outdated, but I'm too afraid to get another one. I'll get one in the event that I step on a rusty nail. According to my dad, that should do the job.

It can be tough to get acclimated to a new place to live, but you're not really alone. You've got relatives nearby, plus all of us NY BWWers. I'm sure you'll get to know a lot of people at school soon too.

That was my strategy, Lexi, but then I did get hurt. I survived, though. The woman told me to relax my arm, because tensing it would make it hurt worse. Yeah, relax. That's clearly not going to happen.

But what just happened makes up for it today. I just got back and add another class to my schedule. It basically was just going to be an elective; I thought any good classes would already be closed. But I searched the psych classes first just in case and there was ONE slot left in a class I've wanted to take since I was a freshman. I've been shut out every semester because it fills up so fast, but I guess someone dropped it today and left me a spot!
