That's exactly what I meant Chloe. And it also looks as though we're just trolling around looking for comment to attack when we post them here on the board and send others to respond. It's the same thing with Rentsecrets, which is why I don't look at them anymore.

Just to clarify, I sent flowerpower my email address so I could post it here if she couldn't. I wasn't planning to keep it from everyone!
In all honesty, I doubt that negative review is worth anyone's time. Very few people are going to be looking at the press release announcing the San Francisco shows on topix.net, especially considering the shows are already in the past. It's not a bad idea to reply, although I don't think arguing with her is going to accomplish much; she doesn't sound exactly open-minded. Linking to it from this thread probably gave it a lot more publicity than it would have had, although I obviously agree with everything people from this thread wrote on that page.
The "prove you're a human" test on sites like LiveJournal and Blogger is to prevent spam robots from posting.
Thanks guys for the info on how to post a picture here. I won't be able to get to it until tonight.
What is "rentsecrets"?

Rentsecrets is a take-off from LJsecret - a LiveJournal based community which people submit graphic-based submissions to revealing their innermost feelings about a certain topic. For example, a "Rent secret" would be a graphic of, say, Rosario Dawson with the text "I pretend to like you as Mimi, but I really didn't" over it. They're posted anonymously, so no one knows who's saying what, leaving the door open for a lot of false things to be posted.
You're allowed to anonymously reply to the secrets as well, which seems to breed a lot of hatred and fights. Also, people unfortunately use "secrets" as an excuse to simply say they hate one person or another or subject the world to their lame inside jokes.
Most of this thread has been addicted to it for months in spite of ourselves. I'm so hesitant to post the link because I so do not think Adam should read them, for his own mental sanity, and it's been pretty established he looks at this thread, but...

If you want some variety, broadwaysecrets is fun too.

For your own sanity I suggest not looking. It's a hard habit to break :P

Sorry to backtrack, but nice reply Emcee. Although her post was nasty and pretty close-minded, you managed to explain Adam's reasoning on certain points without arguing or disrespecting her opinion.
I haven't looked at rentsecrets in the longest time.
EDIT: Just looked . Umm..16 is really creepy.
The thing is that while I think she was very harsh, he is partially at fault, because there ARE people who don't know backstory and stuff like that, and if you don't know certain tidbits, he can come off looking like a jerk. I feel like... there's nothing wrong with the story IF he tells it to make a point.
He definitely can come across like that. But his attitude about it is he simply doesn't care. If people don't like what he says, don't go to his concerts.
Lexi, I haven't looked at rentsecrets in 2 weeks and it's taking all my willpower to keep from clicking on the link
It's really not worth looking. None of them even rise to the level of provoking justifiable outrage.
I have both communities on my friends list on LJ, so I read them when they're first posted. I usually stay out of all the comment drama.

Sorry for the threadjack but...
My friend just called me from the intermission at Rent. I'm so excited for her, it's her first time seeing it! She loves the show so far. I never heard of the Mimi or Maureen she had. I think it's a new Mimi..Jamie Lee Kirchner. She said that she is pretty good, though she had no one to compare her to. I forget the name of the actress that she said played Maureen, but it wasn't Ava or Haven.
Ha, I just read that San Francisco review. Has this woman never been to a concert before? "Constant, senseless yammering" is what ALL singers/bands do in between songs- even people like Audra McDonald. That's what makes a concert different from listening to the CD at home- the direct interaction between the artist and the fans. As for his behavior, it's not like he bit off the head of a live bat, he read a message board post, for heaven's sake (anyone else find it interesting that the Queens show has been the only one since then that *didn't* have this happen?).
To The Stage- I'm glad she likes it! Jaime Lee Kirchner was Mimi on the tour with Constantine back in 2003; she just joined the Broadway cast in September. Ava left this summer. Haven is the understudy. Isn't Maggie Benjamin back? I'm pretty sure she's been in lately, so unless it was another understudy, it might have been her.
Yeah, but Audra, as the queen of class (I'm not dissing her, she's wonderful, but just poking a teeny bit of fun at the way people regard her like royalty) would give sensical, poised, pretty banter, which is acceptable. Duh. She can do no wrong.
And that's fine; that's her style. Adam's totally different, and it sucks that people expect bizarre things of him. Honeslty, for someone who comes from rock star roots, I'd almost naturally expect crass jokes and oddball humor. It is interesting that he didn't read that review in Queens, though. Heh. Maybe because he knew the BWW contingent was going to be present? :)
Ava left? Finally. It's so hard to keep track.

Yes it was Maggie. I never new Ava left..I haven't exactly been paying attention to the current cast lately. Have any of you ever seen Maggie or Jamie Lee?
I know it's been almost a year since I saw her...but I still say that Haven is the best Maureen that I've seen and she should NOT be an u/s.
I believe I saw Maggie as Maureen the first time I saw the show, but that was 5 years ago. I liked her then.

I agree Mandi. Haven is by far the best Maureen (currently). I really loved her take on the character, and she has an incredible voice.
She was the first Maureen that ever made me really like OTM, which is a hard thing to do. And she's pretty much the nicest person ever.
Good post, Emcee.
I didn't post the URL in hopes that people would just completely rip on this woman, but perhaps to enlighten her, as you have, on exactly why Adam may have said some of the things he did, and to mention the fact that many other people have enjoyed his shows, since she seems to think that everyone must have hated it.

I hope that Haven is in as Maureen when I see the show this month. I've heard some really great things about the current cast, and I was totally blown away by Jaime as Maureen on the tour that skittles mentioned, so I'm excited about seeing it again.
Are you coming to NY for Thanksgiving, Ashley? It's a nice time of year to be here.
Ash, hang around outside of the Neder and trip Maggie as she's entering the theater.
I am, Chloe. I'm so excited! That's definitely what's getting me through the exams and papers I have coming up. Let me know if you have suggestions for things to do. :)
Hehe, I'll have to try that, Mandi!
I figured you guys would like this icon... I didnt make it but I love it so.
