I'm speechless, skittles.
HEHE!!
I don't even know what to say! I'm laughing so hard.
I just came to the boards, and that's the first thing I see. You know I love you.
I was bored. And once I had that image in my head, I couldn't NOT make it!
You know, you can get help for those kinds of urges.
Hehe, but who would want to when they make for such amusement?
Hehe! The picture made me laugh, but not as much as Chloe's comment.
I think that makes three times I've made someone laugh here, and after only two years! I'm so proud...
Speaking of two years ago, I just watched Adam on The View again (when he sang I'm With You). I remember being kind of critical of the suit at the time, but he really looked good.

Aww! You've made me laugh before! Next time, I'll be sure to mention it when it happens.
I'm listening to Aida. This recording is REALLY making me wish I saw it.
That's such as odd picture to see when you first open a thread. lmao.
It certainly is, Mandi.
Thanks, skittles. I'm in an odd mood tonight and acting out my concern that I'm too serious.
Aida was so beautiful. I don't know if you've seen the book about it, but even those gorgeous pictures don't quite do justice to what it was like to see that color-drenched stage. In his first Chatterbox appearance, Adam talked about being in awe of Bob Crowley's visual creativity.
ETA: Adam's performance in SF should be starting about now. Break a leg!

Bah. I went out to dinner with some friends (including the guy I still like for some reason) and invited them back to my place afterwards (we ate early, then everyone went home). So now I'm here all alone, in my pajamas and ready to go to bed. I hate when I get all excited and nothing happens. Now to fight my dog to get my bed back.
Hi Guys,
This is my first post here, and it is kinda late, however I wanted to give you a good review of tonight's show ASAP, so...
Adam at Post Theater: 10/27/06
This is a wonderful, old venue in the heart of Union Square in San Francicsco (which i guess you could compare to Times Square/Theater District in NYC). I got there around 5:30pm and made my way upstairs just to check out the "scene". No one was around in the lobby, however, lucky for me that Adam and Larry were in the middle of their sound check, so of course I had to sit and listen for about 15 minutes.(we were sitting outside in the lobby, but could hear it well) They were playing a song that I had not heard before, and it wasn't the new one they did at the Queens show. So, my friend really wanted to eat so we left for a restaurant 2 doors down...
Fast forward to an hour and 15 minutes later...we head back to the show and my timing could not have been better. As I headed towards the lobby, there is Adam, signing autographs. There was only maybe 10 people there (it was still early) so after everyone got their autographs I said hi, shook his hand, welcomed him to SF and asked for a photo. Asked him how he likes LA (he said he likes it, but he was not overly enthusiastic)..anyway, he was VERY NICE and I actually got to talk with him for a few minutes uninteruppted (can't spell...) which was very cool!
So, the show...
They said about 300 seats were sold or so. It is a very traditional theater, with a high stage and a dark audience area, so I think the lack of a full house was okay. The audience was very quiet, but appreciative. Here is the set list:
1.Beautiful Song
2.Book Of Endings: he read the entry from zenachick in the english accent, and I have to say that although I knew what was coming it was very funny. And the audience ate it up! I wanted to tell him to check out what else has been said since then, but yelling out is not my style...
3.See Me Shining (he told the story of meeting Larry and almost being "kicked out of the house"...by the way...he has a tattoo on his left inside forearm, all one color which I had not noticed before, is this new? I think so...
4.Maybe This Time
5.Maria...interesting story: he said that after the Queens show his Dad was driving him to the airport(to fly back to CA) and evidently told him not to diss "Maria" to NY audiences because someone sitting behind his Dad at the Queens show had been pissed off when Adam had made his comments about the song...
6.Single Drop Of You
7.Love Will Always Come Back
8.The World Cannot Wait (awesome new song that they played at Queens I believe)
9.Just As I Am
10.Model Prisoner
11.I'm With You
Encore:
12.One Song Glory
13.What I Did For Love
No surprises here...the couple behind me were not thrilled that he played such a short set...
Anyway, I've seen him in NY, LA and SF and SF is definitely his toughest audience, mainly because he is not as well known here. Everyone loved him, they are just a little more reserved. I tell you this, to give a flavor of the show.. He did mention that RENT had been filmed here and he said that people did not like the movie, so everyone in the audience proceeded to say how great the movie was...This makes me feel so bad. I think the movie is completely sublime. Just a wonderful, perfect piece and it is too bad that some people just didn't get it, the movie. (I asked him if he had been back here since the filming and he said he hadn't, but that he loves SF).
Anyway, I had a wonderful chat with Larry after the show. Adam did not do a "meet and greet", at least not that I am aware of, but I really didn't expect it due to the nature of the venue. I'll be there again tomorrow, and I am hoping to have a few more tidbits for you all. Thank you for all of your wonderful comentary and info!!!! I hope you have enjoyed this review...
Thanks very much for staying up late to write- great, informative review. We've been wondering what the deal with possible new tattoos is. What you describe sounds entirely new. Any clue as to what this one was?
And the all important question - what was his hair like this time? Any pictures?
Chloe- I checked Flickr.com where you can search photos. There is a person who has pictures of Adam at the Post Theatre. I would post a link, but I don't exactly have permission...

Thanks so much for the review, flowerpower. Why haven't you posted here before? You seem like a really good writer.
I really liked The World Cannot Wait, too. :) And I'm angry that we weren't treated to Zenachick's review. I hope he continued to read down that page, though, because I posted a completely glowing (and obsessive) review a few posts down from her.
Now, go take a picture of his left inside forearm! (Are you sure it wasn't just the lighting? Or a bracelet?)

Thanks so much for the review. I'm glad you had such a good time. Love the details.
Does he have a new tattoo? Really? It definitely sounds different from the one described in that article (blanking on which one).
Enjoy the next show.

Flowerpower, you beat me to it! I was at his show last night as well, and you wrote a wonderful review.
It was my first time seeing Adam perform live, so you can imagine how ecstatic I was. My friend and I had seats in the first row, and when Adam first came out on stage I couldn't believe it was actually him. The theater was a lot fuller than I had expected, but as flowerpower said, the audience was relatively quiet.
Adam sounded amazing. I really enjoyed his set, and his rendition of "What I did for Love" was a wonderful surprise. I recently sang that song at an audition for my school's musical, and I loved hearing his version of it.
Sadly, I did not get to the theater early enough to meet Adam before the show, and he did not come out afterwards for a "meet and greet" afterwards, although I did get to meet Larry. My friend and I hung around for awhile in hopes that Adam would come out, but after all the theater employees told us he had left, we decided just to go.
Even though I was not able to meet Adam, I loved his show and really wish I could go again tonight. I have a few pictures which I'll post once I upload them onto my computer, and I think I may have a picture showing his tattoo, but I'm not sure how clear it is.
Thank you, Adam, for such a wonderful evening. =)
Thanks for posting y'all! Glad you had a great time! And THANK YOU for noticing the new tattoo! You have no idea how much discussion has gone into this and seeing as we didn't have a chance to ask him to strip down at the Queens show, I'm glad we don't have to wait until next April to solve the mystery.

Here are some pictures from last night. Sorry the one showing his tattoo is a little small; I tried making it bigger but the picture became too blurry.
Wow, the tattoo is bigger than I thought. Boo him for wearing a long-sleeved shirt at the Queens concert.

What does it say, though? You were in the first row, you should have gotten a clear glimpse!
Thanks for your review and pictures, mizzairee.

Everytime I caught a glimpse of his tattoo it was only for a brief second... so I wasn't able to clearly see what it was. Sorry guys, I fail at life. =) I think my friend got some shots too, so I'll see if hers came out better than mine.
That's an odd place for a tattoo. Heh. I wonder what it is.
Anyway, thanks to both of you for posting. :)
