His hair, and then the cliff....and then the hug
i posted pics on the last page a little late..USA Adam
Right, I HIHGLY doubt they planned for the Cliff to look ridiculous. The idea is nice. The shot is not.

Like SS said, it bothers me that WYO is comic relief when it really shouldn't be. That said, I started tearing up on the line "connection in an isolating age" the first time I saw the movie. IIRC, Mark is looking through his past footage at that point and everyone looks so happy and full of life. I don't know why, but that line really just did it for me. It probably didn't help that I was already in a questionable emotional state by that point in the movie, haha.
WYO has made me giggle everytime.
It's ridiculous to blame him for the cliff.
"What You Own is not supposed to be comic relief. That's the big problem with that."
I know. I'm not sayin that the whole song is funny or anything, just the cliff and him in the car.
I love the hug at the end.
And I love the second pic that iheartcheyenne posted. That is one of my favorites pictures of him!
It also kind bugged me that when Mark was singing on the rooftop he didn't notice that Roger was up there singing with him.
I was crying in What You Own, too.
It's one of my favorites songs.
Well, I like the hug. But some people were saying it was cheesy. It reminded me of a Joey/Chandler hug on friends.

SH*T, guys... I totally thought Adam was to blame for the cliff. I mailed my angry letter yesterday. Should I apologize? I should apologize...

*huggles OBC+Newbies* I wish people would stop blaming the actors for them not liking the film. I mean, think how many times these guys have played these characters- they are gonna want to experiment and shape their characters to make it more interesting. I know a lot of people have always seen Roger as this really angry agressive character- but I personally always thought he was more full of sorrow- which you see in scenes like OSG and ICYR, than bitter and angry. He just wants to be somebody, and he's upset that that may never happen for him. That said- just because my interpretation of the character is different than, say, the people on that other board, doesn't mean I'm a bad renthead or anything, lol.
Okay, done ranting. *more huggles for Adam... and Anthony.... And Raul even though he's not in it *
Actually, WYO was made so much more jarring for me because it came RIGHT after the funeral, and it goes from the fight and everyone sobbing straight into the up-tempo, too-brightly-filmed What You Own. I think it would've been less in-your-face if the rest of Goodbye Love was still there.
Even though the cliff does look a tad silly, it never bothered me because I understand the idea they were trying to get across with that and somehow it's enough to block out the silliness. Yet the silliness of the Tango:Maureen staging bothers me, and that scene is supposed to be funny. I guess I'm just weird.
I'm not gonna lie though, the part where he's in the convertible with the wind in his hair, I feel like I've wandered on to the set of a Bon Jovi video (on a slightly more serious note, Adam belting out Livin' On A Prayer would kick so much ass *dreams*)
I give it 48 hours after the release of the DVD before Halloween and the rest of Goodbye Love are spliced into the movie and on the net.
I want to see Adam sing "Livin' On a Prayer"!! What a happy thought.
Yea, I got what they were trying to do in WYO, but it did look music video-ish
my non rent knowledgable friends were talking (way too loudly IMO) during the movie opening night about it being a whole Bon Jovi scene. Meanwhile, I was boohoo-ing in my chair because I didn't get to see the fight and I knew the movie was almost over. At that point I think I was just praying that the pic of him driving and on the rock would help us not have an answering machine message of his mom reading a postcard!

You know what's weird? I never disliked the cliff until I came on here and got thoughts of viagra and zoloft stuck in my head, hehe. Actually, I don't dislike it now, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think "Nooo!!! Don't jump!" during my 5th viewing.
BTW- USA Adam=Hot. I would pledge allegiance to that.
Mandi ... I wouldn't give it 48 hours ... I'd say it probably shows up before most of us are able to buy it in stores!
The Cliff could have been nice. It was a nice idea. I agree with everyone who said that it looked like a music video.
the idea of Adam singing on a cliff is kinda cheesy, but i still enjoyed it
haha...shiksa, i wish he could be the flag in my school

There's got to be extra cliff footage out there. Maybe Adam can use it when he starts making music videos.
