I could definitely see a change for the better in Matt's performance last week compared to back in October. He still had his goofy moments, but nowhere near as much.

Ava has a great voice, but I don't like her OTM. I feel like she's playing it for laughs, and to me the protest is kind of pointless if even Maureen isn't taking it seriously.

skittles, I agree with you 100%. The way some of them act, you'd think Anthony's full-time job was responding to PMs.

I just had to get that out of my system. I almost started to post something on the Anthony thread, but I didn't want to start this whole backlash drama thing. It just bugs me how much they take his presence here for granted.

Fantab, are they blue and white striped knee socks?

All I've seen of Matt was the performance on YouTube. The way he spoke reminded me of the way Raul spoke in TTB, which kinda bothered me, because to me that wasn't Mark.

A lot of Jonathan was in Mark, and Raul was playing Jonathan. Wouldn't that be a good thing rather than a bad thing?

A few pages back Mel posted a link that says "Click" and that showed up. It takes a long time and it made my computer slow so I didn't watch much. I just wanted to see Cary, seeing as how he's become my new crush in the last couple of days.
You're right it was google. I get all confused with all the different players.
I understand that Jonathan put some aspects of himself into Mark, but IMO, I see them as two separate people, where their "characters" have some similarities but also a lot of differences, and with Matt's portrayal I didn't see the differences. Updated On: 1/20/06 at 10:31 PM

Yeah, I saw the one on google video. I didn't really like Matt in it...but I feel like I have this bias towards the original cast because I listened to that recording over and over again for three years before I finally got to see Rent. When I saw Rent when it came to my city, I was almost dissapointed in it, if that makes sense. I mean, of course I loved it, but at the same time I felt like the actors couldn't compare to the original cast's voices that I had heard for so long.

Dude, OldMagazineMan just like buys every mag on the newstand, turn turns around and sells them on eBay. Half the time, the mags are still the current issues, but he's already selling them for twice the cover price.

hello *wave* i just got back from a Michaels [the store] Craft Party!! lol...yea i am 14 and my friend had a craft party..but it turned out to be fun and we made pillow cases! wow i sound like a dork :-P i made a rent one...and it turned out really cool..i wish i could have ironed pictures on though..o well.

I've seen Matt 3 times and I liked him. Most people find him to be very Mark-esque, if that makes sense. My qualm is that he gives the same performance every time. When he began those little antics, that everyone usually finds to be the fault of his portrayal, they remain the same. I saw the exact same Mark 3 times. Those little weird antics that he has are quite obnoxious and do nothing to show what type of person Mark is. With all this being said, you'd think I hate him. But, other than those little things, I really enjoyed Matt. He sounds very much like Anthony to me, which doesn't hurt, and I think his acting is good. In recent times, I've seen him paired up with Jeremy Kushnier and Joshua Kobak - both of whom are his buddies, and there was definitely a great sense of friendship on the stage. Phew...ok, I'm done now.
