I just... want him in a show. I want a little something to look forward to every night, you know?
I just wonder whether Adam was freaked out by the crazy theater people and gay men, or whether he took all that in stride.
I have no real idea or guess, but I think it's safe to say that he learned to embrace the whole idea, complete with sparkly pants.
I'm Lexi. :) I don't mind if people use my real name on the thread. I never seem to get the "you look like someone I know" line -- only "you look like Ashlee Simpson" (which I don't see!) -- so that's cool.

By now, he knows who his fans are.

We have a Kim here too, but she doesn't look like Lexi.
I was just reminded of one of my favorites from Civilian, Something of Ours. I love the lyrics for the chorus:
We all want something of ours
To shine like gold, taste like wine
And bloom like a flower.
Those similes just feel perfect to me.

I like how wine makes an apperance in two of his songs.
I was listening to No Trace a couple days ago and realized how he throws in the line "oh and by the way there's no trace of you" so casually and keeps it in time with the music.

Yes, it's all about denial after all.

I wonder about people sometimes. A couple of the girls on his myspace are...well... woah..
It must be really weird being him. All the scary comments, slash, etc...

I still haven't had a chance to listen to the podcast!! GRRRR...one of these days I'm going to get back to my room at a decent hour, before it's already the next day.
And yes, Myspace scares me. I'm completely addicted, but I can't go on Adam's page anymore because the comments are just...embarrassing.

I understand your feelings, but maybe you should brave it once in a while and leave a sensible comment so that Adam doesn't think all his fans are nuts.

I doubt Adam reads his MySpace page, but it couldn't hurt to leave him a coherent comment. I suppose Larry might stop by, read it, and pass it on to Adam.

I left one a while back when I was added and one after the concert. I'm always like "oh I should leave a comment!" and then I can't decide what to say really. I don't want it to come across as one of the scary ones!

One thing that really killed me was how people kept leaving "Happy Easter" comments after someone pointed out that Adam's Jewish.

Chloe, you're absolutely right and I should get around to that one of these days...I guess I just get distracted by the insane comments. Even though I highly HIGHLY doubt Adam reads his Myspace, I have a secret fear of seeming crazy/stalker/fangirly. It took me a long time to get up the courage to stagedoor for ANYTHING. I'm just not comfortable with that scene, and it makes me self-conscious. It's weird.

It's not weird - I've never gone to a stagedoor myself. And I guess I wasn't really thinking of Adam so much as providing other people who read that page the occasional bit of sanity to cling to.

*pokes head in* Good morning!
Nothing like massive school projects eating away at all your time. Crossing my fingers I finish today...hope I haven't missed anything good!

Amber, I know exactly how you feel. I've got a couple of huge projects that are due over the next week or two, and they've been seriously messing with my leisure time.

Over the next couple of weeks I have over 30 pages of papers due.
And I'm committed to theater projects every nite until 5/4 (which is incidentally my birthday). So yeah, I definitely sympathize with all the stress that's going around! Hang in there, everyone!

*sigh*
Some weird stuff is going on at my school right now. There is a rumor going around that there's going to be a shooting tomorrow at my school to commemorate Columbine and Hitler's birthday. My principal made an announcement today saying that it was just a rumor and isn't based on anything factual, but the police are going to be patrolling both the hallways and the outside of the school tomorrow just in case. There's an article about it in our local paper and my uncle heard about it on the radio. Craaaazy.
My mom wants me to stay home, but I have a MAJOR project that I have to present tomorrow in one class. I'm 99% sure that nothing will happen, so I'm going. If I really feel uncomfortable, I'll leave after 4th period, which is the class I have to present my project in.

guitargeek, that's unsettling. I would leave when I could, if it were me, even if it were only a rumor.
Well, this may make you feel better, so look what I took a picture of in my grandparents house:
A pineapple lamp!

I think I'm gonna tivo it, but I have no idea how to get it on the internet..

I might tivo it, but if I asked my mom she'd be like "Why do you want to tivo Martha?" She already thinks I'm crazy with my Adam obsession, but if I told her I want to tivo his wife, she'd probably send me to a mental institution.

I just got a chain e-mail from Cybele about it -- tomorrow.

In NYC Martha is on NBC at 11am. Thanks for the reminder. I'll be videotaping it, so not much help for everyone else.
And Emcee, happy birthday once again! I'm sorry it has to fall at such a busy time for you.

Thank you. It's okay. I mean, if nothing else, even though it's tending to be a time in which I'm reminded of missing people I'm at odds with and the like, it's also a good excuse to have the people I love cheer me up.
I'll probably tape it so I can go to the library.
It's a little daunting that Adam's wife has my actual e-mail address, first and last name. Whoops.
