Feel better, Lexi. I suppose the party will go on for as long as people feel like partying, but Adam will probably leave fairly early. He often does at these affairs, apparently, and of course he's moving tomorrow.
Assuming the show is from 6:45-9:30 ish, party from 10-12 (1)?
I really have no idea. The party should be interesting, seeing as how they're throwing the OBC, all the former cast members, industry people, AND fans together.

Really? Adam doesn't seem like the type who leaves early from a party.
Thanks, Chloe and Fantab. I agree that it will certainly be interesting (hopefully in a good way). I hope we get some photos.

Atrias, sorry to hear you're having a stressful day. Deep breaths, as they say!
Chloe, I almost wonder if Adam, Cybele and the boys aren't planning on being on a red eye out of town tonight! I'm joking, of course. It really does seem like they're excited about what's ahead. Cybele's blog suggests she's looking forward to the move, and Adam seemed pretty jazzed about it based on his comments in that interview.
I know the move date came as a shock, but we've been hearing rumors about this for a while. Maybe they tried not to say too much publicly until the benefit was over?
Well, he might want to get home. It must be weird for his kids. Their parents won't even be around for the last night in their house. Then again, it's Adam's last night in NY. He might want to just hang out and drink. Heh.
Lexi, I don't think it's parties per se that he leaves early, just the "meet and greet" and industry type affairs.

All I can think about is the benefit, Adam's move, and all the other less-than-happy thoughts swirling around in my mind.
I need to write a speech for a National Honor Society luncheon. It's supposed to a two minute long concluding speech, and I'm supposed to offer some words of wisdom. Does anyone have any cliches to throw out there? Anything that I would say that would come close to being remotely honest would center around how much I'm looking forward going to a great college in NYC and leaving everyone else in North Dakota. (I know, I'm horrible.)
Who will be your audience, and is there some kind of theme for the luncheon?

Other National Honor Society students for the most part. Seniors.
There's no theme. The directions were incredibly vague.
ETA: Sorry, this is an incredibly boring topic. Feel free to threadjack, anyone.

Not at all, Lexi! It's rather interesting, actually.
Your comment about looking forward to going to college is actually a good place to start. You could always talk about the adventures ahead, spreading wings & finding one's place in the world. Pretty cliche, but depending on how you string the words together, it can also be a fairly powerful message...
Just a thought.
They're probably starting right now.
*imagines*
Oh I don't know, at least it's not painful.
Is there anything about your education and community there that you can put in a positive light as a springboard for your journey to NY? Then you could start with that and go on to be honest about the wonders of NYC.
We're all there in spirit!
...or something?
Right Mandi - I wonder if they're going to start with speeches, and the actual singing will begin around seven.
Honestly, I almost wish I could be in New York to at least try the lottery, even though I wouldn't win. It all seems like such an exciting process.

I feel like I should be doing something like watching the 5th anniversary video/the movie/something...
Alas, the studying continues...thanks history professor?

Hmmm... isn't there a theory about astral projection, where you can project your "self" to some other place even though your body is still physically sitting at home in your comfy chair?

Thanks, Kim and Chloe. I'll think about that.
My 5th Anniversary video was deleted when my old computer died. Grr.

Wait... Mandi, did you say you have gum? I want some. I promise not to stick it under my comfy chair...
I'm too tired to do anything. Although I should probably start unpacking things.
I'm rockin' out to Rent right now. In honor.
You know...I thought damaging my car would be a bad thing...but it's fixed already and I'm getting a new, very cute one. I like that.
Some more Rent to rock out to.
Rockin'
That...made me tear up just a bit.
It's going to be a looong night.
I'm writing some incredibly dorky fan mail instead of doing homework. Woo!
